I'm a fairly new SK, and I was being mentored in Crushbone by an experienced 80 paladin in a group of mostly higher level toons, and somehow I managed to pull aggro from the paladin on several occasions. I think it was from my three aoe skills I was using, but from what I can tell, only one of the increases threat. The paladin had his mends(sp?) on me so neither of us could figure out what I was doing. Is it possible that the aoe threat spells only work on a certain amount of mobs, and maybe my aoe spells picked up the mobs that the paladin's didn't?

Any helps or tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Tainted Sacrament (level 26) is the first spell in the aoe line that provides a huge amount of aggro to the SK and is one of those spells that you simply should really not use if you aren't the tank. You WILL draw aggro. And since it has a duration of 20 seconds and the mobs you hit with it accrue aggro to the SK by taking damage from any other member of the group that means you will draw aggro for more than just a hit or two no matter how aggressive your tank is. Later versions of this spell will actually bump you on the hate list, not just give you hate.

It's a great spell ... if you are the tank. If you are not the tank you should use caution and know what you are doing when you use it.

Of course, I'm just making a guess here that you are level 26ish and maybe just got the spell and aren't used to it yet, since you are in Crushbone.

Grave Sacrament would be my guess also. While it's on a mob, it procs (33% chance each hit on the mob) you up the hate list. Doesn't matter how much threat the pallie is making or that he's got you as his amends target, if you move up the list then you simply move up.
