Hi

Im currently on "The Untapped Power" for the ranger mythical.

Last two steps requires one to kill Khalan Dar and Phara Dar which as far as I know is in the same encounter. Now I've read that I need to examine a rune from each of them. But how is this done when they're in same encounter.

Does it mean I have to kill Khalan Dar first and the quick examine the rune and then thereafter contunie killing Phara Dar for the next rune?

Thanks in advance.

If I remember right, theres a single package that you have to examine after the encounter is over. You examine it, you get the 2 runes, then you examine each of them then you're done.

The updates are automatic. Once Kahlen-Dar dies, you will automatically get the rune update from him and then the same from Phara-Dar. So, no need to worried about trying to loot a corpse since both dragons are actually one encounter.

*Edit: no rune on Khalen. Just an quest update on kill. Will nab rune when Phara is dead.

After BOTH dragons are dead you will receive an item, and you need to examine that item in order to receive the last two runes. Then take all four runes and your epic ET to Ryvenar and hand in for your mythical.

As the other posters have said, you will get one rune from killing them both. You then need to inspect that rune and voila you will get the 2nd upate.

Yeah it is definitely a confusing last step. There is an item you examine it, and it kind of explains itself from there. It took me a few minutes to figure this out myself when I did mine. You don't have to worry about looting anything after the dragons die it comes right up iirc.

Can someone help me get my epic so I can see firsthand who's right and who's wrong?

Trust me, you will get your update when you kill the encounter. /sigh

Well sorry to nitpick, Zizzu, but you were wrong on all accounts. Rangers don't get an update until both of the dragons are dead. If Shade goes down but the raid wipes to Phara, no updates. Both dragons must be taken down in order to advance the mythical quest.

And good luck, Webin! I'm still trying to get a spot for you on our next VS run, but I really have no idea when that will be. =(

I've worked so hard to improve my DPS without it, that once I do actually get it, it would be unfair to other rangers on the server. I'd be like the Chuck Norris of archery, with mobs just falling over in fear as I approach. It might take all the fun out the game if my groups never get to fight anything.

I would be too strong for mere mortals to contend with.

It's been a long since I nab my Myth and I thought you got 2 auto updates. One was killing Khalen ( a quest update box appeared) and the other was Phara (another quest update box apperared w/ rune). And yes, you will not get the rune if you wipe to Phara.

I guess my memory is failing me.
