I just installed EQ2 and downloaded all the updates. Now i am attempting to login without success. Network page says all servers are up however when i try to log in i get the following message appearing:

Attempting to login server #1, #2.....thru #9, this sequence repeats 1 more time and then i get a final message to try again in a few minutes. I know sometimes login servers get overwhelmed but this has been going on quite a while now. I don't see any news of a patch or scheduled downtime.

One thing to add, i always have trouble with Adobe software. When i get to the screen to hit "play" before i hit play a dialogue box appears to attempt to load Adobe Flash. Unfortunately, due to some software issues, i have never been able to download flash. Would this be the cause of my login problems? Doesn't seem so to me but maybe there's some reason.

How it is done depends on your firewall, if a software firewall authorize everquest2.exe and eq2.exe to start

I have my firewall/anti-virus disabled I am able to login (name/password) and get to the screen where i have the option to hit the 'play' button. In one box it says "Character select unavailable", i still hit the "play" button and shortly after that is where my troubles begin.

If you are using a router with that system then you'll probably want to bypass it. You can do so by plugging your computer directly into the modem instead of through the router. If you are able to log in using that configuration then we'll need to configure that router to work with the game. Please let me know if you have any questions.
