I am new to EQ2 and just recently downloaded and added new memory. I can get station launcher to load, and for me to log in, and it to scan and when it says to "LAUNCH", I click that, it flashes with a dark background and the EQ cursor and then goes back to my desktop. And thats it

Any suggestions?

Thanks

This is a good first step

I'm currently having the same trouble with a computer that has successfully run EQ2. I had to reformat the computer back to original format because of some viruses and malware that just didn't seem to wanna stay gone no matter how many times i ran virus protection or malwarebytes.

I downloaded everything needed ... appropriate service packs, java, .net. The eq2 launcher came up fine, the patch ran great. WHen all the patching was over, I attempted to log in to EQ2 on this comp and the screen flicked black once and then back to desktop.

I thought it was a firewall issue. So I opened up my firewall and added EQ2 to the exceptions list and it is still doing the same thing. All the drivers have been redownloaded to the comp including graphics card drivers. There is plenty of RAM to run EQ2 (2 gigs). I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be.

When I get around to it later (it is my second comp, so not my main comp I run for EQ2, just the one I run my 2 box on for farming and etc.), I will attempt to take out the graphics card again and reinstall it and redownload the drivers for it. I dunno if that will work or not, so if someone has a bit of insight and can give me some suggestions, much appreciated.

**Edited here**

I should note that the computer in question is running Windows XP with version service pack 3.

Just thought I'd respond and say that I have fixed my problem. My newly reformatted comp will now log into EQ2. What happened was, I forgot to disable the onboard video card and it was causing a conflict with the installed PCI video card.

So if there are others that are having this issue, check to make sure that you disable your on board video card if you've installed a new PCI, PCI express, or AGP video card.
