Creation of the First Iksar Monk:

Cazic Thule for thwas directly responsible e creation of the first Iksar monk, Tynn. This story is related in Everquest via the in game book "Tome of Cazic Thule 2" which is part of the Whistling Fists quest for monks and presented below:

Tome of Cazic Thule 2

Zan Fi believed in his power and made way to do battle with Cazic Thule in his own plane. Dispatching his minions one by one he came to the Lord of Fear. He saw and threw challenge to him. The battle lasted for days, Cazic Thule was weakened but Zan Fi would be defeated in the end. Cazic Thule seeing this amazing skill in battle decided that it should be instilled into the broodlings of his great race. He took the essence of Zan Fi and placed it into an Iksar, Tynn. Cazic Thule bestowed unto Tynn the gift of the Whistling Fists. He did this as a mockery of Zan Fi and his failure in battle. He was placed within the empire of Iksar with only one thing in mind, to train other Iksar the way of the monk to inflict a new breed of fear and pain unto their foes

Umm.. I don't mean to get off on the wrong foot here, but we already know all this... Most of us anyways. Just posting all this info that most of us can easily access from any other website isn't really anything special.

Yeah that's true. This board has been a little dead lately. Not much new to talk about, so I guess we should talk about the old again.

Carry on, but try to pace yourself.

Cusa, where do you look for your lore? I've got alot of it up in my head, but not details and such, like this one for example. I'm just looking for a reliable place to find eq1 and 2 lore

I don'r remember this particular book in Mara, or is this EQ1? If it is please list the NPC that you get the books from, while my Lore Liabrary is no where extensive as Cusa's I do have a decent one and I make an efforet to gather Monk Books.

This is from EQlive.

Hmm.. Well to tell the truth, I really don't enjoy using websites that record all these stories for reference.

I just memorize it and... well, kind of like the Kerrans in EQlive, I pass down what I know through word of mouth.. in other words, this message board.

Not exactly the best thing to do though, because anyone could prove me wrong (and have in the past) by looking it up from a website. There's just something about using the internet to look at all this lore whenever you feel like it that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I always feel that the best way for anyone to learn the lore is to experience it themselves instead of cheating by looking it up.

But hey, it's my style. I want to think that I've experienced so much over time that it's become too troublesome to go back and check again... Especially in EQ2 where the quest journal doesn't record dialogue, and you can't do the quest a 2nd time.
