View Full Version : Moving furniture with numpad doesn't work very well.

We have been trying to decorate our guildhall and I just found out you don't have to use your scroll-wheel to rotate/scale and move furniture. Using ctrl, alt or shift and +/- on your numpad does the same thing. Shift and +/- works fine - furniture scale in the same way it does with shift scroll-wheel.

Problem:

Ctrl- moves furniture up, while ctrl+ moves furniture down just a little (others move up with + and down with -).

Alt+/- rotates furniture. Slowly.

If I want to rotate something 90 degrees with alt+ I have to hold alt and press + like 500 times. If I want to move something up with ctrl- I have to hold ctrl and press - 500 times to get it above my characters knees.

I can't find these hotkeys in options, I've tried changing keyboard layouts and different settings but can't get it to work. Any ideas? Could it have something to do with my good old ctrl-alt-shift bug I've had for 8 months?

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=429757 http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=425961 http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=447551

Greetings,

Yes, I believe the alt +/- is supposed to go slow as way to fine tune the exact position you want while +/-without the alt moves at standard speed. The only thing you mention that sounds unusual is CTRL +/- going in the opposite direction they should. The '+' key should move items up while the '-' key should move items down. It's possible that your control settings file got corrupted.

You might want to try moving the following files out of the Everquest 2 directory so the patcher can download fresh versions. Keep in mind that this will reset your UI/controls to default:

cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.ini

Thanks, but it kinda fixed itself. Everything works perfectly until my beloved bug appears (the one from the links I posted) and after that + and - get inverted and I can't hold down the keys but have to press them like a lunatic to move anything just a little. It won't go away until I restart eq2 - switching characters doesn't work.
