<p>I am new brigand and currently at lv18.I feel my brigand is week on soloing mobs in equal level at commenland, and named mob is impossible to kill even they are blue.</p><p>I guess the problem is that my gear is all at low level, so i am wandering is it a good choice to convert the tradeskill into blacksmith and making gears by myself ? Or keep my tradeskill on making poison and buy all new gears through broker?</p>

<p>Uhmm... role-play-wise brigand should be a poison crafter, e.g. Alchemist. And this is what I pick for my brigand. BUT! Except of poisons, alchemist doesn't do anything useful for scout classes, so in your case, I would suggest going with Armorer and here is why:</p><p>* You can make required armor yourself. If you are soloing much time, having mastercrafted armor will help you a lot.</p><p>* You can make armor for sale - among all tradeskill professions, this was the most profitable (at least on my server) and I have tried almost all of them (except weaponsmith maybe).</p><p>With money you get from selling armor - you can buy your poisons (you have to use poisons - they add a lot) and spells.</p><p>Just my 2cents <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>I say Jeweler. Not only can you make your own Adept IIIs, you can also make your own jewelry. It's a 2-for-1 bonus!</p>

<p>As a brigand, you either want to be a Jeweler (for making your Ad3) or an Alchemist (for making your poisons and potions).</p><p>Jewelers save you the most in up front costs. By the time that you hit Kunark, Ad3 are a must. (It's what the playtesting of the content was based on.) If you buy them from the broker, you're usually paying 1.5 to 2.0 times the value of the standard rare loam market value. Combined with the fact that T8 loams are the most expensive rare on the market, it ends up being a real savings in the long run. Also it makes sure that you'll have at least App4 arts while you level, which I consider to be the bare minimum.</p><p>However we're also very big poison users. In the top levels of T8, we also use temporary buff potions and cure potions all of the time. Alchemists save you a large amount of money in the cost over time scenerio. Your non-permanent crafted items (like poisons & potions) have high marketability and a good turn over rate for sales.</p><p>For my brigand, I went Jeweler. However on my bruiser alt, I was doubly determined to power level up his Alchemist levels for the temporary items needed by my brigand. So in an ideal world, you'd want to have access to both classes. I'd suggest that you talk to your friends and guildies first so that you can figure out if any of them are one of these two classes. Then simply level up the other.</p>

<p>I don't think "jeweler" is a good choice tbh! The speed in which you can level up adventuring levels these days is so fast, that you will need to work really hard (and without vitality) to maitain the Jeweler to be ahead of you in levels! So in order to get the decent crafted items you need to be lvl _9 before you hit _2 in the same tier!</p><p>And once you hit lvl 80, the Jeweler is pretty much useless, unless u deceide to powerlevel to jeweler again when the level cap is raised, because if you don't you end up paying other for Adept3 while you level up your adventuring ...</p><p>And there is hardly anything to craft for a Jeweler (other then the odd agi/str ring, and a rare A3).</p><p>I would even say that a WS/ Provisioner is even better then a Jeweler, since both of them make consumable goods, and at the later lvls, you can make a profit with slipstones or infused food.</p><p>Alchemist is imho the way to go, especially in TSO (if you raid), you will need an insane amount of Remedys & Poisions, which are also in demand on the broker...</p>

<p>Weaponsmith, Jeweler and Tailor here. I'd say go Jeweler, for the reasons above (you're able to fill half of your equipment slots <em>and</em> gear up with Adept III's). Also, you make some very worthwhile adornments. Like the neckpiece adornment, which is a straight-up DPS boost, and cheap little +Int adorns for earrings (for poison). Add in Transmuting, and you can get the raw materials for free, plus take advantage of the fact that Transmuters make great weapon adornments. </p><p>I deleted my Provisioner at somewhere like level 60. Grinding out recipe after recipe made my eyes bleed. Poisons, I buy those. There's always a market for them, true, but there's also a market for the aforementioned items as well.</p>

<p>I have read a few posts about becomming a weaponsmith. Are they now a viable profession and can make some money? When I left before they were in need of some much needed love. The reason I ask is I'm looking to start a profession on my brig and I have an 80 alch on another server. I don't want to really go through it all again lol.</p><p>-Krelis</p>

<p>I chose weaponsmith , in most case's a active and dependable weaponsmith is hard to find , due to it being such a lackluster useable craft type. The big bonus to them are making whetstones and slipstones , and making adornments for the public. Also making throwing ammo is a decent bonus.</p><p>Have a alchemist on one of my alts , that def save's me coin as well.</p>

<p>Alchemist. At the end game, I calculated I will be saving myself about 9 plat per week making my own poisons rather than buying them. This is super important when you realize that poisions are a huge part of a rogues dps (usually second or third on the list behind auto attack). Also, alchemists get quite a few sweet adornments they can make that again will represent a savings by making them rather than buying them. Lastly, at least on my server, alchemists are getting fat paid selling poisons, potions and dusts (you can run a quest that allows you to distill lower tier dusts into a higher tier version)</p>
