I need some help here. Here are the current spec on my computer, now i know its not superduper, but its what i have...

AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.0 GHz

3gig Ram 800MHz

Radeon X1300/x1500 256mb

Originally I had 2 gigs of ram in it, (1-gig stick of 667mhz, and 2-512 sticks 555mhz) and I knew this was a problem, so i replaced it with, 3gig of ram @ 800Mhz, which is about as high as I can go. I did not notice that much difference in the game, the only place i noticed much of a difference was when i was running multi things at once, it runs ALOT smoother....But i want to get some better performance out of the game. I was thinking about upgrading my vid card to a 512, or 1gig, and was wondering what kinda responce i would get. Am I going to see a major difference. Or is there anything i can do to make a noticable difference?

On a side not, i took vista off, and put XP back on....I cant stand Vista (more for business reasons), and i assume the XP i put is not 64-bit cause when i put all 4 sticks of ram in, it only recognized 3.25 and after a while it did a memory dump and errored....once i took out 1 stick of ram to drop it to 3 gig, it ran fine with no errors....Sorry for the lack of "lingo" I only know enought about computers to get by...

Any Advise would help...

Thank you

If you're dead set on upgrading your computer for better performance, my suggestion would be to upgrade your CPU. You could put the greatest and most expensive graphics card into your rig but that CPU will definitely be the limiting factor in your system. There are some really great CPU upgrades that would run you ~$80-90, for example:

[Link]AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600 2.9GHz or [Link]AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 3.0GHz

If your motherboard can handle the 6000, you should definitely get it. Speaking of which, could you post which motherboard model you have? That way I, or anyone else that is willing to help, can determine which upgrades would be compatible with your system.

What make & model is the computer? Someone else might have better luck finding that info out. Also, XP64 > Vista, in my opinion, but I'm biased. The video card, yeah, I'd upgrade it but after the CPU.
