Is anyone else getting really tired of the non-stop Whack-A-Cure(tm) in the direction sony has gone with raid content?

I find myself doing more curing than healing and its getting old.

Its to a point that i hear from healers (even on other servers and guilds) that people are complaining to one another saying they are the only one curing.

I even made a narritive tab so i could see all the cure messages on my screen.

I pride myself in being a fast curer, even tho i play a templar, but its getting old.

Thank god for manacure and pearl bangle (now its fixed it). But its still rediculous.

It would be really nice to try and improve my skillz as a templar by trying to mix dps into the mix for tough fights when you need to heal less as you gear up, but instead (for the most part) you're just curing non-stop so your dps can do more.

This is especially daunting for guilds who don't heal things to death, you only have so many curers on the raid, and it becomes a higher burden on the healers that you do have.

Ever more its becoming a thankless job being a healer.

Yes, I agree. I have been irritated with the game lately and 90% of it are the cures. I am not having as much fun as I used to. One thing that would help is the ability to to see the detrimental effects on other players without having to target them and look through the wall of buffs and effects. Some effects don't need to be cured. Something like a raid window on steroids. Instead of just seeing that player A needs to be cured of an elemental it shows the detrimental effect right there on the raid window. Prolly asking too much but a healer can dream. Another thing I would like is the ability to enlarge the detrimental effects window, or more so enlarging the icon of the detrimental effect.

Just my 2 copper and I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way.

While i understand why you'd like to know which you should cure. i think it would be highly unnecessary and a clutter to have all those effects with the explainations on them.

Most encounters you should already have an idea what and why you need to cure, and i don't see any reason why you would let something sit on someone.

The encounters that im really talking about all have effects that need to be cured otherwise you're just hurting your dps and your raidforce as a whole.

When you cure 20+ effects between heals it really gets old. Thank god for click to cure group/raid window

It wasnt so bad when the dps stance gave a 30% boost to cast speed, making cures MUCH easier.

now its 60% slower than previous in the dps stance....

Fixing Mana Cure would help.

A fix to the templar, mystic and warden cure lines are hopefully incoming soon...Ideally granting easier ways to cure people. It would be nice to have some sort of reactive cure or something, anything. I highly doubt the raid content of this expansion will be changed to cure less though =/

So many cures its rediculous.

Last time we did anashti, first fight mt defiler went LD about 45 seconds in, so i was solo healing. Repelling heal from our cure AA line proc'd 108 times did like 190 hps, pretty sexy - we wiped at 4:50 from some bad luck and sucking.

The pull after the failure, we had the defiler back in the group and fight was about the same length (5:00) iirc, i only had 5 triggers of Repelling heal from our Cure AA line, and believe me, i'm basically non-stop curing... this fight is one of the reasons why im tired of the Whack-A-Cure(tm).

I run Profit UI and I think it's a must for healers primarily because it shows you the detrimentals on your group or raid.

Each characters get 5 icons next to their name, for each kind of detrimental, and the curse, and the icon will light up and show the number of that detrimental on the player.

Just click the detrimental and it will cast cure on the player, whilst keeping your currently selected target.

Edit: It's still whack-a-cure though!

I have noticed mana cure isn't quite working how it should lately.

In just a group situation, I've no problem curing my group individually, usually focusing on curing the tank first depending on what kind of detrimental it is. If it's a trauma/stun, the tank get's cured first. If it's a damage dot, I usually go to cure the mage types first so they don't take too much damage.

In a raid, such as in TotMC, killing the snake for example, you know what kind of detrimental you need to cure: nox. There is no reason on that raid that people do not have cure nox potions. It's part of being prepared for a raid, and knowing the things you need to bring with you. It's unreasonable to expect the healers on a raid to keep track of curing everyone else on the raid, wasting that mana and cast time, when all someone has to do is click a potion on a hotbar. That's when it's good that your raid leader/raid officers are in the know on the zones you go to, they can remind the raid force what to bring before hand.

I agree it is getting a little out of hand lately, specially now since their adding moves that abosutely need to be cured or else the tank or whoever else will die, which kinda makes you think "god why didnt they just make a class who's job is to do crap healing but every move came with a cure" ? it's getting out of hand and needs to be toned down, we need to be able to concentrate on healing again.

It's laziness and/or lack of creativity. Just like getting stifled/stunned for long periods of time. It seems easier for the devs to just program us into just staring at our screens instead of actually doing something.

The whole whack a cure thing has taken a lot of enjoyment out of being a healer. Let me DPS a little bit, or stay on top of my debuffs. But to sit there and cure everyone multiple times every second is just not enjoyable to be doing. I don't mind the frustration of a hard encounter and dying a lot, but at least make the encounter itself feel productive and fun.
