Hello there,

My problem is this - I am almost comouter illiterate, and hope things usually are fairly automatic etc with loading/patching.

I have recently tried the trial account - which gave me a mammoth DL with 15 or 16 hours of patching. After coming back I relaised I had missed eq2, so have reacitivated my account.

The only issue here is simple - I do not have room on my C drive for eq2, so I installed the trial on my F drive.

On starting the patcher and entering my old account details it automatically started to install, then came up with the error message -

There is insufficient free disk space in C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II. You must have at least 9196 MB available to update this game. Please try again. If the problem persists.., etc

Well, could someone please intruct me, in simple layman's terms, how I get the patcher to use the trial account data, and patch onto my F-drive please?

thank you very much

Greetings,

I assume you're starting the game through a shortcut on your desktop? If you are, right click on that icon and select 'open file location'. That should put you in the Everquest 2 folder with a path like "C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II". Simply back out one step so you're at "C:Program FilesSony", Select the Everquest 2 folder, and hit Ctrl + X. Then go to the folder/hard drive that you want to install the game on and hit Ctrl + V. That will move the folder to the location you want.

Finaly, select the icon on your desktop again and delete it. In the Everquest 2 folder you moved you can then find the Everquest 2.exe, right click on it, then select 'Send To > Desktop". That will put a new shortcut on your desktop.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the reply ) I wish I had been a bit more patient lol. What I did instead was delete Wow from my /c drive as after playing the trial for a few days I decided I wont be needing it anymore.

It then started to update anyway - it made a new icon on my desktop - this one the old style blue EQ2 shortcut rather than the black background one I had before.

And then started another mammoth update, currently at 9 hours to go >.<

Am I right in assuming that had I waited and done as you suggested it would have been a much shorter update? And if so, can I remedy that now, or shall I leave it going?

Lastly - I deleted the trial account Shortcut from my desktop - do I also need to go into my /f drive and delete the eq2 data in there?

Thanks very much.

Cratoh

Once you restore them through the recycle bin then you can simply move them to the new location. If the files have been completely deleted then you'll need to go through the update process, though.
