Ok, this has been happening since I have been playing this game. On my newer, and older computer both wireless, connected to a wireless inksys Router. The older PC has a USB wireless adapter, and this one has a built-in, so it's not me using the same wireless adapter and that being the problem. Older ran XP, this runs vista premium. Both would randomly kick me to character select screen out of nowhyere, no warning. I didn't lag for a long time, then have the game kick me. It would happen mid voice chat, and me and everyone moving or playing the game. So, there was no lag. Sometimes it will kinda lag cause I'll see the indicator ping in miliseconds start to spike higher, and higher, and then it'll do it.

But, most of the time is will just do it with no warning. And, if it goes to the character screen, and I don't click a character to log back in, it will say... "Lost connection to server." and force me to click exit. This is soooo old, and I have no problems like thiw with Dark Age of Camelot, Rohan: Blood feud, City of Villains/Heroes, or Chronicles of Spellbourn, or Phantasy Star Universe. (a few of those are just trials I was curious about, but noticed not havin this problem). I also noticed if I stand still it happens faster, so if I go afk I have to autorun into a wall or something to not get booted to screen. But, that doesn't always work, cause like I said it will happen in the middle of me having a voice conversation and playing the game at the same time.

It's so bad that when making a character I have to ruash and do it cause if I take longer than a few minutes the lost connection to server forced exit clicky comes up. Is there anything you guys can help me with? Does EQ not like my ISP, or router? My Linksys Router Model is BEFW11S4. If there is anything else you need, just ask.

Greetings,

As Kithal mentioned, this definitely seems like a blocked port issue on the router. To confirm that's the problem I would suggest plugging your computer directly into your modem without using the router. If it stops losing connection then we'll know that the router was the culprit. At that point I would advise using the link below to help you set up the router.

http://www.portforward.com/english/...routerindex.htmSimply select the router you are using, then select the 'skip this advertisement' button in the upper right, and finally select Everquest 2 on the following page. You will then be presented with a walkthrough on how to forward the correct ports. Please respond if you need any further assistance.

I am not really able to try and plug it directly, because our house is a one story spread out building, and I don't have a long enough cord to try, and where the modem is theres 2 desks there, and other people's office stuff, so theres no room for me to try that. I did however try the port forwarding, because it's the only thing I can try. The directions may be out of date, or something cause I made sure I clicked on the right model, then Everquest 2, and then followed the directions, but everything it asked for and told me to click, and even the pictures were different, and looked different from the pictures shown.

With that said... I had to play around with clicking different things to get the pages to come up they wanted, and they were a little different but for the most part the same. So, I did what was asked, and tried it, and BAM still dosconnected. Would it be the fact I am using wireless? My signal strength is maxed.

Anyways, it looks like I'll just have to deal with it, but I don't get why no other game has this problem, but this one does...

Thanks for your help, and I'll keep watch incase you have something else to try, but thanks a lot for the help so far.
