Hello,

As per below images the graphics on my Cloak of Dark Energy seem bugged.

With it activated I get 'furry' little black tentacles that wave around

I have used this in the past without any issues, but noticed as went into TSO, that the graphics get buggy.

Hadnt seen it before then. Not all people see the buggyiness - but some do

I have a ATI Radeon HD 4870, with up to date drivers. Believe I had the same bug with my older POC also

Any suggestions on what can be done to fix it? Hopefully just adjust a setting somewhere - either in EQ2 in on the PC

Its a real shame as it loks quite good when working properly, and its from LON

Edit: The issue also affects my mount. However I noticed that I can remove the black fur from my mount by adjusting the particle Quality to ''áverage' from High'' in the particle Effects Menu. This does not affect my actual Char though - just my Horse. Would prefer to play on high settings - not low.

May be some side product of zones/memery. At times the bug has disappered or reappred after zoning

Cheers

http://eq2players.station.sony.com/...?imageId=988217

http://eq2players.station.sony.com/...?imageId=988218

I have this cloak and it does it to me too. You get the black 'hair' all around your character and any mount you ride. I am playing on a brand new machine with all settings maxed and I STILL see it. Previously I was playing on a balanced machine and I saw it there too. My laptop also shows the same 'tentacle hair'.

My new machine is an Intel i7 940, 12 gigs of RAM and dual Nvidia GTX 280 video cards, running Vista 64. Previous machine had an Nvidia card as well.

Everyone I ask about this cloak sees the tentacle hair. I've never seen this cloak look like it is supposed to and I don't know anyone that ever has.

I assumed it is a bug and not a PC setting that is causing this since everyone I know sees it with the tentacle hair and we're all running different PC setups.

The tentacle hair as you call it is probably the way its meant to look but only appears while running particles at high quality or very high. To get a version without the tentacles you need to have it at average or lower. The particle effect from the cloak has existed long before the loot card item and has been used as a graphical effect on some npcs most notably the Death Reveler from ilse of Mara.

Ahh I got excited when I logged in this morning and thought that the furry hair bug had been fixed

But alas........ no such luck

Turned on my cloak in the guild hall.... and no furry bits - jsut the nice glowie purple eeffects.... turned up graphics settings and options and stilll no faurry hair - weeee!..... or so i thought....

Then zoned to moors and the ugliness came back - sigh....

Can the esteemed developers please look into removeing the black furry hair affect that covers you char when particle settings are high. Please keep the Purple Gllowie efect though

Cheers

Personally, I hate it and this is why I won't use the particle effects on this cloak. My boyfriend, however, won't go anywhere without using the particle effects on his because he loves the black furry tentacle look. When I mentioned that we were talking about this on forums he said, "Noooo! Don't take it away!"
