(okay, got the right forum this time! yeesh)

Hi guys (:

Sorry, but this has been bugging me whenever I read postings and such about vampires. Is there anything that specifically (or even semi-specifically) states that vampires can bite others to turn them into vampires as well? Are they just selective about who they bite which is why vampires generally look the same (aside from the differences between the Bloodline Chronicles ones and the ones that appear in EoF and so on, and aside from just copy pasta models) or is there another key to the puzzle?

If anyone has some in-game quotations or lore or something, I'd appreciate it. I'm sure I'm just being skeptical for no reason. d:

Here is a link to an interesting post about vampires in Norrath that talks about the various vampire clans and how they originated.

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=440863

It has been implied through a few quests that you become a vampire if bitten by one. Halloween 2008's main quest involved you getting bitten by one, turned into one and terrorizing a local house at night. You investigate what is causing it only to find it was you all along.

The Brell diety line eventually has you fighting a "Vampiric Dwarf Paladin" which indicates to me that the dwarf was turned into a vampire, or obtained vampiric powers during his life.

There are also magical rituals and such as well.

It hasn't been explained why most vampires look the same, but given the abductions they perform in New Tunaria, the majority of them on Faydwer are or were elves at one point. It's possible that being turned into a vampire slowly transforms you into a race all it's own, but that is my speculation. Nothing has been really touched upon it.

Hmm, okay. (: That link that Galldora posted was one I had read earlier which sparked most of my uncertainty over whether it was stone-cold lore or speculation / assumption / hinted at.

*lol* If the Halloween 2008 quest were the only thing, I'd be skeptical, since I don't know if that quest was lore-based or fun-based d: However, if there are other quests that imply this, I'm slightly less suspicious. Slightly. It depends on the source for me. It could just be a 'folklore' kind of thing, or the people of Norrath are assuming as well... I wonder if any vampires in Norrath confirm or deny anything themselves?

By magical rituals... what do you mean?

Thanks (:

Halloween 2008 was just an event for fun. The quest itself really didn't leave any ties to continue it's storyline. The holiday quests rarely ever continue on to have connections outside of that holiday, with a couple exceptions.

The Devs have stated that the baby dragon from Frostfell will be making a return soon enough, and this year's Erollisi Day quests had a very heavy backstory regarding the uncertain status of Erollisi Marr and the future of the Sisterhood of Erollisi.

Oh, magical rituals = ewer. Gotchya! Sorry, I thought that magical rituals had meant, like... get bitten by a vampire who then performs a magical ritual to turn you. As part of the biting process. My bad (:
