Does the zone designs change somwhat as you level up? Meaning right now I am in Zek and EL as a 35 Illy and the whole "hey lets group 8 mobs together in one encounter" or "lets combine regular mobs with ^^^" or my favorite "lets have 5 cougars attack you in stealth" just gets old, expecially when they are needed for quests.

I understand the whole concept of a challenge and not let everything be easy but is every zone going forward pretty much designed like this? Some solo encounters but mostly grouped encounters?

There are quite a few zones ahead of where you are currently that offer a majority of solo content. Some of them off the top of my head would be : Steamfont, Everfrost, The Newly revamped Lavastorm Questlines, Sinking Sands, Lesser Faydark, Loping Plains and almost all of the overland content in Kunark is 100% soloable ( 65-80 ).

Every zone does have it's "group" content, however most of these places are designed for the solo/duo playstyle.

The best T4 zone for soloing is probably Enchanted Lands. Zek is good, but it's got a higher density of mobs, making adds a problem, and more heroic content near the zone in. Or you could go to Steamfont Mountains - it starts at about level 35, and has some really fun quest lines.

Steamfont is probably the best zone in the game. At least, it's my favorite.

Follow the questlines for the exp. They are well thought-out and mesh with the zone.

Start with the kobolds in the front making sure you get the Lore and Legend and the Language quests.

Then start on the clockworks and spiders.

After a bit start the Minotaurs (grab their Lore and Legend first, don't remember if they have Language).

Then start the Harpies with their Language as well as their Lore and Legend.

Depending on your good/bad side. Make sure you get the Writs for there as you never know when some status will come in handy and you'll be killing the mobs anyway.

Fireice

Linked mobs among the solo content come with a good amount of down-arrows. 1 at least, but up to 2 or 3 if many, like the swarm beetles in TS. This means, they are weak in the HP department and die when you sneeze at them. As Illusionist you have an array of encounter-wide spells and AOE spells. Just use them and don't bother with the solo target stuff. Use AOE with care, though, not to drag more adds. What concerns grouped triple-up mobs, they just aren't to be killed solo (although some classes can).
