<p>I am just curious to how effective this is?  is it any good?  how about in PVP?</p><p>also aside from dmg output and debuffing the mob what other (if any) job would a brigand fill in a group, raid?</p>

<p>In a group brigand stuns can help reduce the damage your targets do.  I often like to use cheapshot right as the target comes in to give the healers an extra couple seconds to finish their heal spells.</p><p>Brigands also have beg for mercy, which is great to cast on yourself, and also awesome to cast on group/raid members.  I've saved the lives of others many times by casting it on them and dropping their threat position.  It's especially useful in raids where the mob's aggro is kinda random, you can sometimes save a key healer and keep the whole raid going.</p>

<p>Band of thieves can be useful solo because the thieves can/will aggro a mob, so they can be a good 'distraction' if you need it.    In a raid, they're just a bit of fluff dps really.</p><p>One of the key brig roles in raids is traumatic swipe, which is a rogue AA that increases a mob's reuse timer 50%, so you get far less AEs/etc during a fight.   Swashies also have this, and theirs with mythical can also reduce spell damage I believe.    So landing TS, keeping it on an enemy when the AE hits, is an important skill.   Other than that keeping the mob's defences and resistances debuffed.</p><p>If you spec INT line you also get feign death, which adds a few possibilities if you have no brawler/SK.</p>

The individual thieves can do brigand combat arts. Its possible for them to dispatch the mob, or throw a stun but honestly its completely random and unreliable.</p><p>And sside from our two class defining abilities do we have a role in a raid? No. We just debuff the mob's defenses better than any other class in the game AND provide ok DPS. We've got a very good niche laid out for us. We don't need another job on a raid to be useful.</p><p>In groups it is possible for a Brig to tank. It isn't recommended because t1 DPS can rip agro from us and we can't do a whole lot about it. Also we're wearing chain not plate. Still, if you get raid equipped your as survivable as a non-raid tank perty much. Honestly, a brig tanking is only worth it at low levels when you can't find a tank and at high levels when you want to goof off.</p>
