Hi, this is [edit] and I am posting on behalf of [edit], my husband. He gets invalid username and password error no matter where he logs in..whether it's the forums, eq2 directly, eq2 launcher, etc. He cant even log into the forums to post the problem so i am doing it for him. He has uninstalled and reinstalled both launcher and eq2 which didnt work.

We have done a full scan, full patches, and then I have, on his computer, on the same launcher and on same eq2 install, logged into my account just fine.

We reset his password, that didnt work. It is on your end, and the fact that there is no support on weekends or after hours is ridiculous btw..basically come monday morning if he cant log in to his account we would like a full refund since we are not being provided with a game to play when we are paying for it...It's not the modems or install or anything, as i said i was able to log into my account fine on his comp. As it is now because of the weekend he wont be able to log in for the entire weekend until someone comes in on monday. I don't feel that it is right that I should have to pay for a game that provides such terrible service.

Thanks for your time...

[Edited out station names - Kiara]

No, there is no chance of it being anything small or silly...just plain and simple it's not working on their end. we have tried logging him in to everything under every possible circumstance..included every small possibility(such as caps)..

from what ive read there's been alot of problems with SOE's login servers in the past and that they really don't seem to be too keen on providing a stable launcher that consistently works..well anyway, thanks for the suggestion it is appreciated

Logically it is not a general failure but a specific failure on a single account, the issue is something in your husbands account, be it on their end or on your end.

As far as weekend, billing and account support goes, not aware of any online game that offers it unless there is a special circumstance.

2 of my accounts are having this problem. A few guildies also informed me that they cannot login. Perhaps the reason there aren't posts is that you cannot login to ANY sony game or station ... so you can't post the problem... Raid tongith, and still can't login...

Something is very wrong on sony's end.

This is a reoccuring problem (seen it a few times this year) that is being discussed in the General Gameplay forum. SOE is rebooting the log-in server causing the problems and asks that folks give it a few minutes.

My boyfriend and I both are having the same issue. We both had gated to the guildhall and we both crashed. Now it wont let either one of us log into our accounts on teh game or on teh forums. I am posting this from my second account that IS letting me into the game. Anyone have a fix for this please?

This problem just happened to me about 5 minutes ago, used the guild portal spell to go back to guild hall, but partway through loading the error box came up "invalid username or password" station launcher would not let me log in with the account, nor my 2nd account however I am able to log in with my 3rd account. When trying to log into the everquest2/sony station website i receive the following error after submitting my log in details - error.authentication.retrieval.fail on the two accounts that the launcher also refused. I looked up this error on the forums and going back several years can see the problem previously was the log in server being "sporadic" in soe speak.

As the problem locks you out of the forum as well as the game, you can't get in to even notify them about it unless you have another working account handy. Seems that you can only register a problem if you log in to do so - and if you can't log in........
