As of today I can no longer run two instances of EQ2 from the same directory from Station Launcher. The game client now opens/creates ui.log with an exclusive lock. After you have started one instance, the patcher attempts to open/create the file and is denied access.

Here's a multi boxing tip, create a shortcut to your everquest2.exe file and use that. Launches the game but bypasses the patcher. Makes it much faster getting into the game overall.

Really you only need to patch once every few weeks for GU's and such that wont let you log in without patching. Every second counts.

Yes, the shortcut works, but at the same time you shouldn't have to do a work around in order to run two copies of the game on the same computer.

Using the launcher is a bore. I dont call it a workaround, I call it complaining.

Only one install of eq2 runs the patcher
