Hey all , I just recently rerolled a Monk to better suite my playstyle.

I've now played both a guard and a Zerker to level 36 or so , only to again be bored with the low Damage output for soloing and small group Duos. I don't have much time to get in constant groups at the moment which is where I think those fighters really shine.

So I rolled a monk , currently level 17/7.

I'm having trouble with deciding on my AA progression.

Some say Str 4.4.8 to start off with if you solo or duo a lot.

Some say start with the int line and go 4.4.8 first.

Based on the plan to "most often" be playing either solo or with a Fury friend of mine, with the occasional groups for questing ( not dungeon crawling , just occasional for the nameds and the quests ).

what do you suggest as the Progression path ?

STR then INT ?

STR to CHI or just 4.4.8 then switch over to INT ?

INT first for 4.4.8 then back to STR ?

thx in advance.

Depends on your race and level of equipment. I'd say go with STR to 4.4.8 first, unless you were a Barbarian with their low HP Berserking racial, or had a ton of money and all your abilities Adept III or Master I'ed.

Chi is great for big fights but you can only use it once every ten minutes, so it's something you should get after you've spent on all the AA you can on the easy ways to increase your DPS.

My Monk is 42nd lvl and since 35th & with the exception of 40-42, I've been working exclusively on building my AA's. With that in mind, I went:STR: 4,4,8,6,1 (2 since it needs it)

INT: 4,4,8,6, 1 (2 since it needs it)

WIS: 1 (all I can really put into it till after 70)

With that in mind, it's helped me crank out some nice solo dps. Yeah, I'm not this big AoE powerhouse, but man, in conjunction with my 42nd lvl Master Crafted gear, i can tear into most things with reckless abandon. Unless it's a super hard hitting (or insane health pool) ^^^, I can take out 40 ^^^'s without much worry for easy AA exp.
