First off I'd like to say I first made a healer to fit a group with my friends well and hated it. This time I chose a class based on what I wanted to play and I am LOVING MY GUARD!! However I just have a couple issues...

Question 1:

I named my guard Immovable with the intention of making his last name Object. However for some reason the name Object gets rejected So any suggestions??? (I am being serious...)

Question 2:

I've been trying real hard to use search engines and noob guides to figure stuff out on my own, but gear for a new guardian is really throwing me off... No way will I be able to constantly buy a full set of MC gear every 10 levels. So I was wondering if maybe there is a certain tier(s) I should splurge on or if I can get by with quest items or whatever. I'm not so sure what to do with gear since I am 28 and my Timorous gear has really fallen off now, especially the mitigation.

Money seems tight right now. Just got my first plat from selling on the broker and I decided to sell those trading cards so I'm looking at a couple more plat soon but it doesn't seem like i'll have 10-20 plat every 10 levels unless I level unbarably slow (although I wouldn't mind slowing down and maxing out my AA's for my current level)... I have always hated crafting in other MMO's and absolutely hated doing it on the first char I made in EQ2 and would prefer not to but if it is one of the best ways to go for money or if it is far easier to craft my own MC gear than /wrists... My plan is to keep mining up to date to hopefully find the odd rare once in a while to either give to a crafter to make me gear or just sell on broker. I have the other gathering skills up too but was wondering if they're even worth leveling if I am not crafting. Seems like the other rares don't sell for much at all compared to the mining.

Thanks for any input guys, even if I come of as a complete nublet to you all...

If purchasing MC armors is a financial issue, you can consider harvesting metal rares on your own and look for an armorer that will make these 7 armor pieces for you. It shouldn't cost you much. You will probably need another few rares for your weapon, shield and a few piece of jewelry.

For your name, if you are already looking for an alternative, it probably means you're not so immovable as you may have guess initialy. That being said, why would you need a lastname with such an explicit firstname ?

Utilize the broker system to make some easy cash. All those treasured items you get from killing mobs, don't give them away to an NPC vendor, put them on the broker for a considerable markup (depending on server, each treasured item you get up to about level 30 can easily sell for 2g apiece); transmuters will eat them up like candy.

The same goes with collectibles, harvestibles, and so on.

Getting a full suit of vanguard mastercrafted armor (with the breastplate and legs imbued), a mastercrafted imbued tower shield, and two imbued mastercrafted weapons is your best bet for leveling up, and will make your experience as a Guardian much more pleasurable. To save money, don't buy the armor directly off of the broker; instead, hire a crafter directly. You'll save a huge fortune on costs.

Also harvest the rares for your armor yourself; it'll take considerable time, but it will save you a fortune as well, as rares (especially for armor) get extremely pricey.

As far as your name goes, you're just out of luck, and I'm sorry. Of course you could always mis-spell Object. I mean, your Guardian is a Barbarian, and what do Barbarians care about spelling?

If you want more advice, talk to me in-game.

LvL 50's is probably when I might consider getting MC and then hopefully you will have enough money from selling chest loot that you can pay for mc. The only tier I would definitely want MC for is lvl 72 and then start working on legendary and quested/group dropped fabled like the thuuga line starting in Kylong Plains.
