Greetings,

I seem to have a bit of an issue with the /load_uisettings command....

I can save my UI settings, however, if I move a window or switch from full screen to windowed mode or vice versa, I cannot use /load_uisettings filename as it will not do anything at all.

If I switch from full screen to windowed mode and vice versa, I can use /load_uisettings to load the GUI and choose which UI Settings I have and it will load properly that way...assuming I have not moved any windows at all

If I am in either mode, and I move a window, I cannot use the GUI to move the windows back. It will appear to have reset my windows and UI elements when it fact it will only remember the last window position if a window or UI element is moved.

So in short...

/load_uisettings filename will not work at all

/load_uisettings will bring up the GUI and will only load the last window positions remembered if/when a window was moved (or not moved)

any suggestions?

Please find and delete the following files in your C:/Program Files/Sony/EQ2 folder:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniTo do this, please follow these directions:1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in: C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them. 5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

These files will automatically download once you log back in. Let me know if this helped.

Does /loadui work at all?

If you alt+enter does it re-enable /load_uisettings?

What video card do you have? This is a strange issue.

I actually do have a ticket opened on this issue and trying to figure out.

I have not tried /loadui and never heard of using alt+enter

I bypassed all homenetworking and did a clean install of EQ2 so no UI exists. I resent dxdiag and misinfo etc to the ticket

it still does not account for the fact that if I accidently move a window for whatever reason or by accident it will not load back my UI I have saved at all.

Prior GU51:I was able to type into chat:/save_uisettings CarthingtonUIand anytime I needed to reload the UI I would type:/load_uisettings CarthingtonUIand the UI will load

as of GU51:

/load_uisettings <filename> will no longer function.

If I type /load_uisettings the GUI itself will appear with a list of UIs saved for any given character.

if I go from full screen to windowed mode and vice versa, I can use that command to bring up the GUI with the list of UIs and it will load the UI I select.

if a window gets moved by accident, loading the UI directly from the GUI will not work properly. It will reload the UI but with any window that has moved. It appears (not sure if this is the case) that it updates the window position and automatically saves itself making it the most recent saved UI to load.

Does that make more sense?

I'm still trying to seek help of the ticket but I am unsure what their troubleshooting steps are in this case.

Oh that sounds about normal then. I have not used the /load_uisettings
, and just select it from the list. If I change anything on accident I can always load from another saved setting in the list that I know is what I want.

Here's what I found last night, I can use /load_uisettings
and type in the actual permafrost_eq2_character_uisettings.ini file to bring up the settings, however, if I save my own file and just name it CarthingtonUI it won't load like it did prior to GU51... if I put in a file extension like CarthingtonUI.ini or CarthingtonUI.txt or CarthingtonUI.xml, etc, EQ2 will freeze and I have to ctrl+alt+del to close the game and log back in.....
