So I'm a fairly fresh 80 brig, working on getting my epic and stuff. I don't do much raiding at all but 1 group alot with guildies and PUGs. In a PUG raid of the Gates (60ish 4x raid) I actually won the master of Double Up. That lucky drop, combined with the fairly horrid DPS I tend to run (1-2k roughly), has led me here to get tips from more experienced brigs. Of course I'm working on TSO gear and my epic and I know that will up my dps, just trying to make sure I'm using my skills properly. Right now I use my Dispatched (AD3) then hit the Double up Master I. Is there some other combo I should be trying? Thanks for the info in advance, look forward to pushing my dps up a bit!

People have various opinions about when to use Double Up. In an ideal world, you would carefully watch all of your important combat arts for the potential misses. If one of them should happen to miss, then you'd hit Double Up to use it again.

Having said that, I'm not willing to be that obsessively focused. My own choice is to do exactly what you're doing. I use Dispatched and immediately follow it with Double Up. If I'm using Dispatched, then I want it up for a reason and don't want to hit a wall if the original attack misses (which prevents the debuff from landing). However you're also going to gain a real chunk of hate from this since you're turbo debuffing a mob twice in a row. Should this become an issue for you, then you may want to look at using it on other art choices.

I'm a unique brigand, but I parse very well for my gear. (honeslty I don't know if I'm that unique or not... I just do what I have found works for me, I do not necessarily try to mimick others. I've always been at least up to par with any brigand I've raided with, even better geared ones once I got my mythical, buffs not included)

I start with the 3 CAs on the shortest cooldown, then evade because my major dps is about to hit... if the lag is perfect ( non existant ) I hit dispatched followed by 2 other big damage CAs, and then double up. If there is no lag and all 3 combat arts are doubled you can extend the duration of your dispatched by about 2 seconds by doing this.

After that 'starter' chain of CAs, I simply cycle through everything as fast as I can. I use CAs on the shortest cooldowns first, even if it means casting stealth to reuse my stealth attack. I do not worry about timing my CAs because I'm all about fitting in lots of combat arts. Auto attack damage is important, but for various reasons I personally choose not to time my CAs around my auto attacks.

On any fight that last long enough to be worth it,

If there's no lag, I'll do Dispatched, Enfeeblement, Blood Rake, and follow it by double up to double everything.

If there's lag I'll cast them the other way around. By doing that I still have a chance to double all of them but at least I know the 2 I want most will be on. It results in slightly less damage to cast them in that order but not all that much anyway.

On trash fights in group usualy using dispatched will most likely result on the mob dying on spot...so it doesn't really matter.

I usualy star my fights with Rob, followed by Baffle (macroed with my HO starter), Jagged Blade, and then I go with the dispatched serie.

About the timing thing, I found out that when I'm not lagging I pretty much parse only like 100-200dps lower by squeezing as many CAs as possible compared to when I time (that's in raid and with a zw dps of 7k+)...so I'm rarely puting the effort to time. (well the fact I lead the raid also makes me wanna put efforts in other stuff than increasing my own dps by 100)

For your dps, as a newly 80 brig, get your epic and another fabled weapon and your dps will get much much better. Auto attack is a great part of a brigand's dps, or any melee class for that matter.

Go to eq2flames and read the how to be a brig post - has all sorts of tips including casting orders, AA, etc.

Use poisons - Expert Caustic for damage, debuf poisons such as Gracelessness, etc.

Get gear with +double attack, procs, melee crit, etc. All of these will make a big difference in dps.

Get adept 3 and masters for all CA, debuffs, etc. - there is no reason to not have at lesat an adept 3 given how easy it is to harvest or earn plat for the the spells.

Being strong in DPS is important but so is fulfilling the debuff role within a group allowing the group to kill faster. Brigs are fun to play and not hard to get decent DPS but they are not tier 1 dps so comparisons between brig and tier 1 dps are pointless. In any case, eq2flames guides are your best bet and don't forget to use the search facility to find others who have posted good materials.

You want to use Double up with your biggest hitting CAs.These are Dispatched and Enfeeblement. The 3rd biggest hitting rather depends on your gear. You should always be able to DU 2 CAs easily.. and if there is no lag, 3 CAs is very doable.

One very nice trick with DU is on multimob encounters:Do your debuff sequence (ie Dispatch, Enfeeblement, Rake) on one mob, very quickly tab to next mob in the encounter and hit DU and all 3 debuffs will be applied to the 2nd mob in the encounter as well.
