This might be a tricky problem to solve. A friend of mine is looking to start playing EQ2 and I'm posting this on her behalf.

She got the trial once before, back when the game was using Launchpad, and it worked fine for her. However, she's looking to try it again, and this time around, the game is using the Station Launcher. She is able to download the station launcher, however, when she tries to run it, an error pops up that says "This OS is not supported". She tried running it as administrator already. EQ2 itself is not the problem, just the launcher.

Unless I miss my guess, OS stands for operating system, right? She's using a real and legal copy of Windows XP Professional, version 5.1, Build 2600. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Really sounds like no SP's (service packs) have been installed.

This can also happen if you have attempted to set compatibility on the Launcher Icon.

1.Right click on the program launch icon

2. Left click on "Properties".

3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.

4. In the "Compatibility Mode" areamake certain that the "Run in Compatibility Mode For" box is UNCHECKED

It may be set to run in compat mode for another Windows OS.

Worth a try
