Okay, I am getting more than a little concerned about a lot of the questions being brought up throughout this expansion with no answers at all. I've experienced every nook and cranny of TSO and some things still have me absolutely stumped.

Why is a shadowed man in control of Mistmoore's abode, which curiously has a vampire dragon perched on the top with nothing more than loot and AA for the kill? There was no information given upon his death, no emotes.. no text.

I was really disappointed.. in the past, we've relied on raiders to tie fast the loose ends left throughout expansions. Now it seems not even they hold the answers.

Should we just wait for them to be fed to us via EQ2Players posts as Theer was explained to us? That doesn't seem like how things have been in the past or should be at all.

There rarely are any answers in raid zones past the original game. We still dont know why we kill Wuoshi in emerald halls, or why Trakanon et al needed to be killed considering that the ethernauts were able to at least gain an audience regarding the threat of the void. I don't think we ever learn if Barakah and Siyamak are freed from the Djinn master or are simply killed. We dont know if killing Venekor in halls of the seeing "really killed him" lorewise either. Most if not all expansion end bosses dont even have voicework, and if they have text they say very little.

There have always been many raid mobs who have no lore or explanation for being there. It's always been this way. It sucks, but that's just how it is.

That's true, though I still find it very grating that some of the more interesting/known characters have little to no resolution or explanation to the events surrounding them. I mean there's very little info at all on Trakanon and he's been part of the lore for a pretty long time, I don't think it's even explained how he became healthy and no longer rotting, let alone becoming the leader of the Ring of Scale.

If I remember correctly, Trakanon took over leadership basicly by force. The last 500 years provided a huge moment of weakness for the dragons, and Trakanon took that opportunity.

Where exactly is it from?

The raid progression quest from RoK left us with a huge amount of information.. and even more untouched topics such as the Obelisks of Theer. In fact, Mayong hasn't even made an appearance this expansion to follow up the last.

I don't understand their methods, and I don't need to. I just want to see some of this stuff tied up.

Zero quests, zero lore, zero goals.

Hmm...

T5: The Prismatic Quest line, a heroic and epic based quest line where we work with the Sages of Ages, who turns out to be Darathar. Quite a bit of raiding involved where quite a bit is revealed in regards to Nagafen, Vox, Prismatic Eggs, why you were rescued and put on a boat to the Isle of Refuge in the first place. The Obelisk of Lost Souls has been there teasing us with tons of lore and information.

There was also a raid many people forget, called the Commune of K'dal, which was a glimpse at Shadowed Men seeking control in other places as well. We also had the Spirits of the Lost Raid, which involved the release of the Frogloks.

Bloodline Chronicles introduced us to the D'morte family of vampires, culminating in a raid to slay T'haen the Lost.

T6: While Desert of Flames was a poorly designed expansion overall, we are nonetheless given our first taste of D'morte vampire inolvement in much more, including the Ewer of Sul'dae, which we learn in a couple of raid zones, culminating in the Fountain of Life (raid zone), where we finish a quest to recieve weapons infused with the power of the Ewer, before it is destroyed and we are smacked in the face with a large mural of a beautiful dark haired woman wearing a peacock headress; Anashti Sul. Another lead in to The Shadow Odyssey. Even Mistmoore is mentioned in this expansion after finishing this quest.

T7: I so don't even need to go into this, the entire expansion was built around a gigantic quest line tied in with raiding where we learn a bit about the Void, tons about dragons, the Claymore, Soulfire, Theer etc, all through an orgy of raiding and questing. Knowing that Anashti Sul is tied to the void, the lead in from this ties even more together. We also have the return of Faydwer; the void has an interest in dragons, we are shown another Anchor on Norrath, we get tidbits about some mysteries Mistmoore is studying that may tie into TSO even more.

T8: Mistmoore manipulating us from the shadows, Trakanon speaking of a prophecy made by the Eldarr queen after being visited by the ethernauts, we are given the Chelsith stone. The void seems to have even had involvement here.

Now with the Shadow Odyssey, we have the strengthening of Ykesha and the involvement of the trolls with the void. We finally see another veil pulled back with zones like the Palace of the Ancient One, where Anashti resides. We didn't need lore spoon fed to explain why she was there, everything else that came before and in the lead up to the expansion explains it. The dragon in Mistmoore's sanctum does bring some questions up, but hasn't nearly every expansion opened up as many stories as they conclude?

Where exactly is it from?

Observation.

Phara Dar is imprisoned in her room in Veeshan's Peak. She is being guarded by another dragon who clearly is a ghost/spirit. When you enter her room, you get "Phara's Prison" or something of the sort. Originally she was the leader of the Ring of Scale, now Trakanon is in her place. We can presume that he overcame her some time after Age of Turmoil and now is in the charge of the Ring.

Of course, we don't know how the events folded out and we only can interpret through the conclusion and possible consquences of the past events.__________________________

There are other events, old and new, that still aren't revealed. Or being very slowly dripped into the known lore.

We know about the agreement between Tunare and Woushi before she left. We read about it before expansion release. But how did it concluded? Woushi was to guard Tunare's Bloom of Growth. If he's actually dead ... who is guarding it now? It's a connection to the Plane of Growth, for the goodness' sake.

Luclin's destruction. We know it's prophesied by few sources. We know how it ended. We know how it probably started. But we don't know the middle part. Was it Kerafyrm? Dresolik Gem? Or the freaking gnomes? All of them? None of above?

Return of the gods. We know why they left. They were angry and appalled at their own "deaths" by hands of the very mortals they created. They were gone for nearly 500 years. Then they came back, but not all of them. Not at same time. A handful here, a couple there.

But before they returned, we got a hint that there is something very wrong with the Planes - the Plane of Sky "leaked" into the Norrathian sky, starting with the Shimmering Citadel then the Dragon Isles (KoS). Then there are Shard of Fear and Shard of Hate; shadows of their former selves. It supposedly was a result of the Rending - that was what we were told through a journal by a dead gnome who we cannot question further how he came to this conclusion.

Another thing, the major physical evidence of the Rending is the former continent of Antonica - and so where is the origin of the Rending then?

What's more ... not too long ago ... we find out that Erollisi Marr disappeared and Innoruuk, and his "daughter", most likely were responsible. Now Anashti Sul is back and gunning for the Plane of Health. And Rhoen Theer may be not very far behind. He probably is gunning for all the gods who booted him into the Void - likely including Anashti just because she "popped" back into this universe without him.

What are the heck the gods are doing over last few years since their return? They need help. Big help. They are still not asking for it. My conclusion is? We're going back to the Planes just to fix their mess.

Plus the questions of places like Forbidden Forest, Kithicor, Highbourne, Velious, Odus, and all still waiting to be answered.

Sadly, I think I found the answer to it all.

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=447365

Though I agree. I've frequented these boards for 4 years now, but to hell with lore, it's tedious. The sheer amount of amazing information to be found is too intimidating for anyone to attempt to pick up. It's detering people from trying, and needs to be done away with.

What? That makes no sense? No [Removed for Content].

I hope this isn't the direction we're going.. to even let this direction be seriously discussed is almost offensive.
