I wondered if it is possible to find somwhere the population of each class on the server atm? I had a quick look on eq2players but wasn't sure if I was looking in the right place.

The title is supposed to say "Nagafen class populations" not "Venekor class populations" if it still appears that way.

I did this once, the key is to wait until a new expansion comes out that raises the level cap.

Then, like I did when the cap was raised to 70 I think...Kingdom of Sky I believe maybe EoF...

I took and added up everyone from levels 71-80

By doing this you might not get the new players but you will get ONLY active people if done within 30 days of the expac release.

The numbers I recorded were similar

eq2 players is a great resource but can be misleading as many players have made level 1-10 characters on crap accounts that never went anywhere

and to edit and add, I believe his source is eq2 players...just checked myself, yep 15603 SK's

I think thats the highest if you dont count the huge wizard population caused by bot spam...hmmm...

I wonder why so many pick SK? gees...hmm...pondering pondering...thinking...more thought...gosh, i just wonder why!?

I used eq2players.com to get those numbers. Its probably not fully updated yet, But those are where the numbers come from. In total its around 200k+ players in total ever made on the server. And I do mean ever. As there are player names made with aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, etc. If we assumed there were roughly a total of 3000 active players, You could get that number by roughly dividing every class by about 80 to get more realistic numbers in some cases (Wizard/warlocks are an exception to some degree). But the number calculations would be purely estimations. The only people able to provide exact numbers are SOE (Since everyone and their mother is anon etc).

here are the numbers if you sort by class and restrict level to show ONLY players between 71-80

for reference I sorted your list of totals 1-80 from most to least then I added the level 71-80 results beside them with a - infront of each.

I think its interesting that even though almost 4000 more rangers have been created than brigands there are still more brigands at the final tier than rangers.

I have heard of druids being used as the priest for bot groups but I think these numbers clearly indicate the gross difference between the druid population and all the other priest classes. Its pretty obvious in game as well.

Also look at that massive number of Necromancers created as compared to the tiny number of coercers total. Yet again more 71-80 coercers than necromancers.

Just interesting stuff to think about

Wizard: 19699 -556SK: 15603 -317Assass: 15530 -320Fury; 14720 -447Ranger: 14343 -412Bers: 14268 -236Warden: 12503 -631WarlocK: 12007 -399NecrO: 11531 -213Brig: 10983 -443Bruis: 10949 -294SwasH: 10080 -356Monk: 8998 -217Dirge: 8628 -261Guardian: 7730 -259Paladin: 7197 -167Troub: 6664 -210Coer: 5897 -222Conj: 5737 -124InQ: 5719 -135Defil: 5502 -172Illy: 4942 -186TemP: 4161 -234Mystic: 4144 -185

I'm looking to play the lesser played class between templar and inquisitor. I think that the numbers show that overall there are more inquisitors, but there are more templars between 71-80. Maybe due to high end raiding? Does this mean inquisitors are betraying once they get up to the last tier, or are they just never leveling up that high?

What are peoples' opinions on the two classes relative populations and how often they are encountered in-game?

I cant say I know for sure but I bet the inquisitors are just having some success in low tier pvp while the templars are told by all their groupmates and friends to level up for delicious raid heals.

just a guess
