Well... My brother has come to EQ2 after a long break and has made a Wizzy, and my other brother* There are three of us* and I was wondering what some good trio would be for a wizzy... I was thinking about an illy or even a coecer for me to play

Are you primarily just going to be trio, or will you be grouping with others regurally and just want 1/2 of your group to be in sync?

The reason I ask, is if you are going to trio 99% of the time then you would want the classic model of tank, healer, and dps. Wizard being the dps, you would want them to pick a tank and healer type. Since you won't have the support of a full group, I'd go with the hybrids - Paladin or Shadowknight for a tank. Fury may be a good choice for your trio as they can heal and dps well for a priest, as well as teleport your group to save on travel time.

If you were planning on grouping often, then maybe pick the support classes that greatly help wiz, but are not as commonly available. Illusionist and Troub would help the wizard the most and give you a great foundation to invite a tank, healer, and one other mage dps.

In the end, you can really pick any classes to get through the solo content thru 80. The heroic content generally can be done easily once it goes to green con. Find a guild once you get the feel for the game, as they can give you advice, fill in missing spots of your group, and provide a regular base of players for you to interact with.

wizzy + dirge/troub + templar/mystic

dirge and templar have more survivability

troub and mystic would provide more dps

If you're going to get a fighter at all I'd get a Crusader (sk will buff your dps more, paladin will lean more towards survivability for you)
