If you have access to the TSO raid set pieces, by all means WEAR IT! You need the critical mitigation the raid set pieces provide on Raids more than anything, and it helps out quite a bit in TSO instances as well. Not to mention the overall stats are far superior in most cases.

That said, if you're considering non-set pieces, compare them on a piece-by-piece basis. The T2 breastplate and shoulder pieces are the hardest to replace, but every other piece can be replaced. But keep in mind that crit mit on TSO raids is more important than anything, especially if you plan on tanking (and as a Berserker you will be called on to tank on TSO raids).

For non-TSO content, such as VP or SoH, you don't need crit mit at all, so consider the pieces on a case-by-case basis for non-TSO raids.

with the exception to some situational gear i'd say the T2 mirror champ set is the best tanking armor out there (pre raid gear).

i swap in stuff like the mutagenic burst pieces for heavy aoe zones like befallen and such. You could also use the darkmail gauntlets instead and older pieces like mantle of the jarsath if you dont need the extra mitigation and defensive stats. some previous tier raid gear can be used too, but when tanking hard stuff i'd wear at least 5 pieces of the mirror champ if you dont have raid gear.
