grouping with a mystic

<p>So my buddie started playing eq2 and created a mystic. Is the monk a good class for grouping with him? or should i be looking at a different fighter class?</p>

<p>Monk/mystic is perfect.  In general, brawlers match up best with shamans.  Our avoidance means that their wards last much longer than they do with plate tanks that get hit more frequently, and the ward mechanic helps to smooth out spike damage for us.</p>

<p>I box my Monk.  My second account is made up of mostly healers and the 2 I use the most are my Fury and Mystic.  Yes, Mystics are great to duo with but I have great success with my Fury as well.  WIth my mystic, I don't take nearly as much damage and don't have to heal as much....BUT the mobs don't go down as fast either.  With my Fury, I sometimes have to heal more, but I like being able to DPS and burn them down as well.   Both classes have some nice buffs for monk, but it's all in playstyle.</p>
