Hi, I installed EQ2 on my PC after a few years of not playing, however I loathe with a passion that laggy and etarded looking LaunchPad/Station Launcher or whatever you want to call it. It's slow and always running in the background when I don't want it to be, plus it's about ten times more difficult to switch between US and EU servers. And did I meantion it's hideous looking? It came with the download of EQ2 however and installed itself, against my wishes, on my PCwith EQ2. In fact I had to go into Add/Remove programs to get rid of it and even then I'm not completely sure it uninstalled itself. I had hoped getting rid of it would now allow me to use the old and favorably designed original EQ2 Launcher/Patcher. Alas, it didn't. Starting EQ2 from it's folder only gets me to the TSO loading screen asking for my name and PW without patching. It lets me play okay EQ2 okay, but I'm missing out on LON because it keeps saying I need a patch.

I have the old EQ2 patcher on my older computer and it patches three times as fast. Withough trying to load stuff and buttons and tabs from games I don't even play.

If anyone knows how to get the old EQ2 launcher back and get this machine patching again that'd be great. That Launchpad is a POS TBH. If need be I could probably reinstall the game from my KoS CDs and let it patch everything else but I CBA going that far..... yet!

When you are starting EQ2 from it's folder, what file are you using?

I believe that EQ2.exe will launch the patcher and that Everquest2.exe will launch the game itself without patching.

I might be mistaken, not at my pc at the moment to check.

Use everquest2.com/install for the old patcher.
