Crashing while loading after character selection

<p>My parameters:</p><p>ms vista x64 ultimate</p><p>nvidia gforce 285</p><p>core2quad 9550</p><p>6 gb ram</p><p>The problem is: after choosing the character the loading process starts and system immideately crashes. When using 2 gb of RAM (2 x 1 gb), eq works perfectly, and when using 4 gb (2 x 2 gb) or 6 gb (2 x 1 gb + 2 x 2 gb) it doesn't work. I've tried to change memory, but still doesn't help. So it normally works only with 2 gb.</p><p>All necessary options in the properties of the shortcut are enabled (launch wit admin rights, launch as in XP sp2, etc).</p><p>One more issue is that SOMETIMES it works with 4 gb or 6 gb of ram, but only for one launch. After reboot for example it won't work any more.</p><p>Did someone have any kind of such problem?</p>

<p>Greetings,</p><p>Do you always use the same RAM in the same slots on your motherboard?  Its possible that one of the memory sectors is bad and the game is crashing when trying to access that sector.  That would make sense in this case since it is crashing when putting in a different stick of RAM.  You might want to take out the stick you use when only running with 2GB and insert one of the others into that slot.  If the game then starts crashing with only one stick then a bad memory sector on that RAM seems likely.</p>

<p>You see, everything you said i've already tried to do.I changed the memory,i changed the slots. Certainly it might be an idea that the memory is not good,but i even bought two more memory sticks (2 x 2 gb) and still didn't help.By the way in other games there seems to be no problem with memory or whatever.</p>

<p>it could be bad memory slots have you ran memtest?</p><p>vista has its own memory testing feature just goto start and under search type memory you will see an app that is called memory diagnostics tool. </p><p>Also not sure if this is the issue but you shouldn't run the game in compatability mode anymore, just make sure it launches as admin.  It works fine in vista 64 without that.  Although you do want to make sure to disable areo (under compatability tab, make sure all the settings that say disable are checked (there should be 3 of them).</p>
