So I've decided to give everquest 2 a try, but im having a million problems installing it. So could somebody please tell me step by step the easiest way for me to download the game and start playing it with the free trial please? Heres what I've tried so far.

I downloaded the thing from http://everquest2.station.sony.com/freeTrial.vm and that gave me the station launcher thing. i made an account on that and then it started downloading eq2 or something. The staion thing would say "Scanning loading remote manifest" and then a smaller window would appear that said "scanning" and that would get to 100 percent in a few seconds but as soon as it hit 100 it would say "Update failed" WHY!?!? I'm so confused, and I want tio play now. o is there another place i could download the trial from? Preferably a file thwithout and expansion pak things included in it so that it will download asap. I wanna play now I've spent the last couple of hours scanning these forums and trying to get it to work, but it won't. So any help (asap) will be much appreciated.

Is there a file with just the base game without any of the expansions? cause the expansions are kind of useless for the free trial thing.

Apparently not, the Trial of the Isle file has been removed.

There should just be the one. As I recall, there's something under Preferences on the Launcher where you can set some of the patching to be done while you play.

Is it a big one? Cause Im really hoping to be playing within (at the most) a few hours. Thanks for all your help so far by the way

That really depends on your computer and connection setup. Mine are slow so I always start them when I go to sleep but sometimes one guildie will download a patch in 15 minutes while another needs a couple of hours for the same thing.

Greetings,

I would advised using the Station Launcher since it is the easiest way to download/start the trial. You can get that file at the following link.

Station Launcher: http://launcher.station.sony.com/

If you are having trouble updating through the launchpad then something is probably blocking up the download. Do you use Windows Vista or any internet security like an antivirus or firewall?
