the launchpad does a fullscan and then suddenly it says download cancelled, and if I try to download again, nothing happens.

Restarted the launchpad 5 times now, always the same problem (full scan, then a cancelled download). Afaik nothing has been patched since yesterday? So why would it download something? or cancel the download.

It also seems that eq2players.com is down too.

Edit: The file/files it tries to download seems to be eq2_keymap_united states.ini wich is wierd, since I am playing on a EU server!

Similar problem. Says "download cancelled" I close and restart multiple times.

If I click the "download" button while it says download cancelled it flashes

download eq2_keymap_france.ini

decompress eq2_keymap_france.ini

scanning files

and then returns to

download cancelled.

edit: deleting the eq2_keymap_france.ini file and restarting and it gets to "update complete" now.

Please try again or restart the application.

Previous ones were giving 404 errors ...

Machine 2

Login no problem ... doesnt patch or anything

Machine 3

Login no problem ... doesnt patch or anything

Copied Legensofnorrath dir (within eq2 dir) from machine 2 to machine 1 and now I can log in.

I'm seeing this as well.

Currently, I've renamed the LoN directory and am doing a full rescan. I'll post if that worked.

hitting me, too, although, it's recycling the sounds.rcc file over and over

Renaming the LoN folder does work, but incurs a 40minute repatch. So if you're completely out of luck with other solutions (as I was), try that.

didn't have to go that drastic, but did delete the US Keyboard.ini file when it got stuck there after finally getting the Sounds.rcc file done. dunno if that did it, or not, but it has finished patching and i am now in the game

So does someone admit that someone changed something when they shouldn't have?

If you're experiencing(or were experiencing) this issue, are you using Windows Vista?

Vista tends to place strict protections on applications installed to the 'Program Files' directory and those protections can cause this issue. If you're running Vista then I would advise moving the game to somewhere like C:GamesSony. That will resolve the problem in most cases.

Thanx for responding, but no I wasn't using VIsta.

It seems very unlikely that it was client-side issue when several users from different locations had the exact same problem at the same time.

Nothing more needs to be said, I am sure whatever happened has been handled internally.

Forgiveness is easier than permission.

-Smog

It sounds like one of the files(keymad/sounds) was rolled back and the file size was not matching. If anyone is still experiencing this issue then I would suggest deleting the 'Cache' folder before performing a full file scan. You may need to delete the files it mentions as well, but in most cases that shouldn't be necessary.

Thanx for the explaination.

It is nice to know that things aren't totally random (makes me think of the RNG, lol)
