must have admin privilages to run station launcher

<p>I used to play eq2 from game launch in 04 and quit in late 05, kept my old 10 disc copy of game and installed again this week. i have to use the station launcher to get eq2 to work because patch will not work from original game icon. i upgraded to all the expansions and adventure packs via digital download. i have to uninstall station launcher and re install it to be able to get game to launch. if i try to just use the station launcher it tell me in a box "You must have administrator privilages to run Station Launcher." i am the administrator for my computer. why will the eq2 desktop icon not launch game and why do i get the insufficient user privilages box when i try to use station launcher?</p><p>I am using windows vista home.</p>

<p>Greetings,</p><p>This is a common issue with Vista and it can be corrected by following these steps:</p><p>1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"</p><p>Let us know if you need any further assistance.</p>

<p>why when i click on the eqii desktop icon that was created during game install using the 10 discs i have not run the launcher/patcher? i have been away from the game for 3 years so i dont understand why i have to use station launcher as opposed to the eqii icon. thanks</p>
