I just created a new character in Neriak and almost everytime I use a transportation portal in the city, the game crashes with the usual memeory error.

It might not crash when I first login in, but after playing for any length of time, it does consistantly.

Also when I log back in, I am still where I started (usually crashing while zoning puts me where I was going).

Greetings,

Neriak tends to put more strain on computers due to the number of NPCs and the fact that more people use it. You might want to try scaling back your graphics settings when entering the area if it is leading to a memory crash. In most cases that will allow you to access Neriak. Let us know if the issue persists.

Thanx Daniel,

That seems to be the answer to all the zones that I crash in. I run at Extreme Quality and most of the time I have no problem. Just certian zones are bad: Nek, Neriak, some of the RoK zones.

Does a 64-bit operating system help this problem or is it a problem with "housekeeping"?

Also , thanx for the quick response.

-Smog

Everquest 2 was designed in x86 architecture and can't address memory beyond the x86 limitations. It shouldn't cause a problem, but it won't provide any tangible benefit.

Of course, in many cases 64-bit operating systems tend to have more cases of driver instability which could be affecting the game indirectly.

That was what I was asking, would more addressable memory space help.

Guess not.

It seems pretty obvious with my problem that I am asking it to load more than it can handle.

First person helps sometimes or just stopping and letting it load.

Can I make a hotbar macro to jump back and forth between balanced and extreme?

-Smog

While we don't support those programs directly, some of them are very well done.
