Hello all just came back to the game after a year and a half layoff. Have a lvl 70 bruiser in full raid gear but for some reason he doesnt hold my attention anymore. Made a wiz, assasin, zerker and a brigand all at around lvl 15. The Brigand is more fun to play IMO then the others. I like rogues and always have in all the games ive played.

I tend to solo most my lvls due to my chaotic play times how do Brigands do solo? Can they handle Heroics?

Ive read that a properly played Brigand can lay down severe damage in raids and groups was wondering if this is true or not?

Can they handle adds?

Assasins seem to not handle a beating very well how do Brigands fair?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer it is much appreciated.

I soloed my brigand most of the way, so let me assure that you that it's very possible to do so. Between the various stuns and interrupts, you'll avoid tanking a large portion of the damage. Combined with their AA Walk the Plank ability and various mitigation debuffs, a brigand can own solo mobs. RoK was a brigand's dream come true. Though TSO can be annoying at times.

Up until T8, I hadn't been forced to fully master playing my class. Between AA and gear, I was able to partially brute force my way through and hadn't mastered the finesse aspect of brigand soloing. Yet even as a 2nd rate brigand, I was able to solo green ^^^ mobs. Sometimes even blue versions. Though once you hit RoK, only the extremely skilled (and geared out) brigands can solo farm heroic content. Not saying that it's very easy, but I know fellow brigands who do it.

A well played (and geared) brigand can easily reach the upper end of T2 raid DPS. Depending on the specifics, they may even parse like a T1 DPS class. Though their primary benefit in raids are their mitigation debuffs. By 80th, you'll have x3 class granted ones. Dispatched is the super powered one that hits all categories for 17.1 seconds (after an AA enhancement). Raid armor sets can increase this duration even further. The other two debuffs last for a minute long and hit either all physical or non-physical damage types.

I love the class. Though I've got a bruiser alt, the brigand still remains my favorite.

You can handle adds if you are good at using your abilities. For example, you can let your thugs loose on the add, use an ability that drops your position on the hate list, and then solo the initial mob down. Or you can snare the add, run a little ways and then kill the initial mob. Brigands have an encounter snare too.

A brig can pretty much chain stun a mob for 20 or more seconds, so in groups on most heroic content you can easily off tank a mob and get hit very little, if at all.

Soloing stuff you can unload a good deal of damage in that time, then snare and kite while CA timers cool down, then unload again. You get vitality poison around L50 or so I think, which will proc heals on you.

It's a fun class
