View Full Version : Main Chat window not opening on login.

<p>As the title states, when I login the Main Chat window is not open when I log into the game. I have to hit a key associated with chat (enter, /, etc...) before it will open. When I do open it that way it does not contain any cached text, so any tells, guildchat, or system messages are lost. opening my chat manually is not the first thing on my mind when I login and I may go 5-10 minutes before I realize that i didn't open it. Who knows how many messaged that I miss in that time. No matter how long that i go, when I finally open it, it is completely blank. I run with two sets of chat windows. The second window comes up properly, but the other window is the Primary/default window. It is the same for all my characters.</p><p>Any idea what might be causing this?</p>

<p>Are you running any type of custom user interface?  If you are, then it could be causing this issue. </p><p>You should be able to correct this problem by deleting some of the standard UI files for the game.  The launchpad will then download fresh versions the next time you start up.  You may want to delete the following files and folders:</p><p>cache foldereq2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.ini</p>

<p>Thanks. It looks like it was a problem with the UI profiles. I am using a custom UI and have experimented with a couple of others. Something may have got corrupted along the way, and because I would import a profile that I had tweked to my other characters, it affected them all. I created a new character and used the default profile, tweaked it the way I wanted. It had no problem, so I imported it to one that was having the problem and the problem is gone.  Thanks for the advice.</p>
