Font Arial did not initialize

<p>I get the message that a font could not be initialized called Arial when starting up everquest 2. I have looked at several posts and tried all suggestions there. The launcher seems to be working fine, everquest however doesn't work.</p><p>This includes:</p><p>Reinstalling the font. (It was already in my windowsfontsarial.ttf)</p><p>Searching for any form of Arial_0.ttf in my registry.</p><p>Setting the everquest executable to xp service pack 2 compatible without the desktop features on and no themes.</p><p>I have redownloaded all files, rebooted, searched the net and I can't seem to understand why the font could not be found or used.</p><p>I am using Vista 64 Home Edition with all latest patches and driver updates.</p><p>Anyone have any suggestions?</p><p>Thanks in advance.</p>

<p>In most cases you can correct this problem by reinstalling the Arial font from the following file:</p><p><a href="http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/arial32.exe?download" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/...32.exe?download</a></p><p>I think the explanation for this problem is that one of the Microsoft Office applications can corrupt the Arial font pack.  So, make sure to close all other applications including text documents when installing that file.</p>
