was testing the new x2 zone with some guildies yesterdaysetting:we wore our raidgear (tso sets + avatarloot) because i wanted to test the changesthis was my first run of that zone and the first "real" test of the tank changes for megroups were:sk, templar, defiler, dirge, coercer, swashyfury, troub, illus, wizard, ranger, brig1st of all its still much too hard no pickup x2 on my server would be able to kill anything but maybe the first namedmeele dps was very bad in there especially on nameds where the even scouts had 35-45 hitrate of autoattacksmy(tank) hitrate in defstance overall was 32% and on the nameds 10-25% (this is with +5 accuracy mod, templar and dirge skillbuffs)10% hitrate with my 6sec delay weapon ~ around 15 successful autoattacks per minute. this plus the (according to act) ~40% less autoattack dmg then on live makes timing autoattacks and any meele procs totally useless for tanksso why have a hateproc that only procs on meele at all on the crusaders defstances?

hitrate of combat arts (especially the ones we are supposed to rely on for aggro now) are nearly as bad (~30-50% on the nameds)this kills tanking for me. i did not have aggro problems but a trained monkey would not have had much either.standing there and not hitting anything brings absolutely no fun to the game.on hard raidmobs (avatars, anasti sul) on live i have ~40% autoattack hitrate in defstance. thats already very low. why reduce this even more?

the outcome of that test for me clearly is that bot the new zone and the tankchanges still need lots of tweaking!!please dont make tanking suck!!

Prior to EQ I was a tank in EVERY MMO I played. I came to EQ2 and said "I do not want to be just a meat shield anymore, it bores me." I then realized I missed tanking BUT still didn't want to be a meat shield. I did nome research and said "Berzerkers are gimped BUT they are not taunt bot/meat shields, lets roll one." I did and was back "home' so to speak without the baggage of being a boring taunt bot. Now the class I came to love is being turned into a taunt bot. All I can say is that thank god I have 2 other classes I really enjoy beause if the changes go live in a fashion I fear they are my tank will be placed in a glass box that reads "break glass only in the event of dire guild need."

I'll look into that. sounds like some of the mobs may have more avoidance than intended!

tanks can have a high hit rate and still have lower dps while tanking, i'm not sure why it remains that we are not supposed to be able to touch the mobs at all.. half your spells being resisted= not fun, 90% of your melee attacks missing= not fun.

Are the hitrates actually lower for just this zone?

Ie, did you test the same hitrates on other epic content on test like ToMC?

I wouldn't be surprised that this is a general fighter revamp issue vs just this zone.

Doubt it, just looks like the avoidance is wrong on them.

As a Scout, I was having around 40% Hit Rate while Mages had pretty much 100%.
