Sometimes I find when zoning into TD there is a 2 next to the name? Is this an overflow zone? I notice when this happens it is very quiet here.

It's one of the lag reduction methods.

If you're in a group and some of your group is in one version and the rest in another, those in the 'other' zone can transport to the same version as the rest by using the group bar. Right click on a name of someone in a different version than you and select the appropriate option (I completely forget the name of it, sorry, but you should be able to pick it out).

At game launch when everyone was new and so everyone was in the same starting zones, there were multiples of the starting island at some times during the day. I have memories of 6 or 7 Qeynos side starter islands (it wasn't called Queen's Colony then, but I forget the exact name) and then 4 or 5 Forest Ruins (very low level zone next to Qeynos). As the population spread out to the multiplicity of zones we have now, it's very rare to see more than 2 versions of any zone.

I like to think of it as that place in between falling asleep and being awake.
