Defiler Freezing once per raid, while casting a groupward.

<p>I am freezing after raiding on my defiler 2-3 hours. I am usually casting my group ward. There are no errors, the game just freezes and I have to CTRL ALT DEL close it.</p><p>I saw there was a thread about this.. <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=361490." target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...opic_id=361490.</a> It is decently old, and I am saddened that this is still an issue for me. I was advised by a CSR to start a thread here so we can get this fixed since it seems to be still happening to numerous people.</p><p>For me - This has been going on for over 2 years. I niavely didn't pursue the issue because my computer was older and my first petition I was told it was on my end. Now I have a brand new computer that has qualifications 10x better than what EQ2 requires and I am still doing it. A GM and I have went through a lot of things to make sure it was on their end, and apparently this is a known bug.</p><p>To get this fixed Defilers need some support. So if you or any defiler friends you know are having this issue, please reply here and document it, so that we can get this taken care of.</p><p>Thank you.</p>

<p>This happens to me too, and I've petitioned about it before.  I have noticed recently that it does happen when I use the group ward.  They've not been particularly helpful (ever) in dealing with these sorts of problems, but GL trying to get them to fix it.</p>

<p>/sigh, thank you. I hope enough people are having the problem so that we can get this fixed. I was ready to take the blame for it completely and do anything to make it stop, but apparently its a known issue and not on my end. So other people just have to come post!</p><p>I've raided all night as a dirge numerous times and never ever froze up. Only happens on my defiler.</p>

<p>This happens to be as well. Its rather annoying and has either cause a wipe and/or caused me to miss updates for quests and such. I really wish SoE would fix known issues like this rather than add a new anime to things like gathering. With the decline in customer based you think they would work toward keeping the customers they have by fixing bugs and such. Anyways, lets pray for a timely fix to this issue.</p>

<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Here is a brief list of what I have been asked to try so far, all of which have been unsuccessful.</span></p><p>1) Turn off sound</p><p>2) Turn off hardware acceleration in dxdiag</p><p>3) Remove custom UI's</p><p>4) Remove EQ2 Maps</p><p>5) Delete character files, caches, and other files within Sony/EQ2 documents (been asked to do this 3 times now).</p><p>6) Uninstall and reinstall the game (2 days of patching later...)</p><p>7) Remove all active programs from my taskbar</p><p><img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Try a new sound card</p><p>9) Play with a different video card</p><p>10) Change speaker type from Miles to Dolby</p><p>11) Change speaker type from Dolby to EAX</p><p>12) Play on Extreme Performance setting</p><p>13) Clock system temperatures</p><p>The problem occurs in groups/raids when we are expected to cast group wards more often.  However, the group ward is not the only spell that is linked to this freeze.  Sometimes it is the single ward.  On very few occassions it has occurred when casting the defiler epic spell nightmares, malis, or abasement (though the spells other than group and solo wards have only been correlated to a freeze once that I can recall).</p><p>I play a wizard as well, and have never crashed at all on him.  I even play him on high quality.</p><p>I used the digital download for all expansions.  I mention this because it's the only thing I have not seen discussed in any of the forums regarding this issue.  I don't know if it even matters, but at this point I am throwing the kitchen sink at this problem.</p>

<p>One more thing ... My group make-up is typically Guard/Paladin, Coercer, Dirge, Templar, Assassin/Swash, Defiler.  That is raid make-up and am guaranteed to freeze on raids.  I'll start paying more attention to group make-up when I freeze.</p>

<p>Yeah my group is pretty stable.. Paladin/Guard, Coercer, Dirge, Templar, Swash/Warden and me.</p><p>I have tried everything they suggested numerous times. Now I have a completely brand-new all up to date.. all way above requirement computer.. still does it.</p><p>Never ever ever on my dirge, illusionist, templar or well, anything for that matter besides my defiler does this happen and it always happens about 2+ hours into my raid.</p><p>So unbelievably frustrating.</p>

<p>Please contribute your info to the thread linked above.  I need exact times as close as you can get so I can dig through the logs.  Telling me "it happens every time I raid" does not help me get any closer to a fix for this problem.</p><p>I know it's somewhat of a pain, but if this happens to you, please come to the forums as soon as possible and post the information that I asked for in the other thread.  Better yet, PM me with the info so I'm sure that I get it asap.  If I'm at home when it happens I'll connect to the office and check it out.</p><p>I'm going to lock this thread now so we can focus the discussion in one place.</p>
