I recently downloaded and installed the EQ 2 trial and haven't had any problems except when I create a character it only allows me to choose between two European servers; Runnyeye and Splitpaw. I live in the US on the east coast. Is it displaying the correct servers or is there something wrong with my client or settings that's saying I'm in Europe?

Thanks for the help

Greetings,

You should be able to change the region setting on the launchpad. If you are using the standard launchpad then that option will be in the upper right hand corner of the EULA screen. The EULA is on the very first screen when you start the program. If you are using the station launcher then you can change the region in the options menu. That setting is under Options > Languages.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

What exactly do you mean by the launch pad? In the EQ 2 folder in my C:/Program Files there are two applications, one is Everquest 2 which brings me right into the game, the other is labelled PlaytheFae and brings me up to the EULA and then the update window. I'm assuming you're referring to the latter, but I didn't see an option there. On the EULA screen there IS a little drop down box in the top right corner, but it isn't highlighted and I can't click it. Is there another launch pad that I'm not seeing?

You can find that file in the Everquest 2 directory, named lp_options.xml. Open that file with notepad and you should see a line near the beginning that says LP_REGION_EN_EU. Change it to say LP_REGION_EN_US.

I found the file, but that line wasn't there. If it's supposed to be there should I add it? Or do you have any other ideas?

I would suggest trying to connect using the station launcher. That program can be downloaded at the following location:

http://launcher.station.sony.com/

Simply download, install, and sign in with your current account. Once you are logged in you can change the region by selecting Options > Languages at the top of the window. That should allow you to change the region.

Let me know if that doesn't correct the problem.

That problem is not happening with the recruit a friend download or the station launcher trial, only with one specific download link. Sadly, it's the first one that comes up in a google search for 'Everquest 2 trial'. I have contacted the appropriate people so that this problem can be corrected.

I also downloaded the trial version and then purchased the game. Even after downloading the full Version I still only have the 2 UE servers available. I already use the station launcher and it has been changed to "English" as stated above. Still no help. I even redownloaded the launcher. No help. I have launched the game via the launcher or just stright to the game. No help. I can not get the license agreement to come back up so I can not change it there. Please help.

Make sure you are selecting the one with the American flag next to it.

Hi, I'm using a CD-Installed version of the game (incl. Launchpad instead of Station Launcher) and accessing the EU servers manually through the EULA Region select drop down menu. Today a friend of mine has downloaded and installed the trial (incl. Station Launcher.. which I do NOT use) and is having trouble finding any way to switch over to the EU realms - it automatically logs him into the US ones.

He doesn't have the lp_options xml file you mentioned above and already has the English language with UK flag next to it..

Any can you think of any other way to go about this please?

Thanks in Advance, Cam

Worked thanks, seemingly only works BEFORE login, similiarly to the "EQ2_aunchpad" doing it at the EULA screen before log in - simple answer but oh so effective - Thanks
