"Fatal Error - Exception Handle Reentered"

<p><strong>Whenever I try to launch the game, it pops up a window that says:</strong></p><p><strong>                                                                                                      "Fatal Error Exception Handle Reentered"</strong></p><p><strong>What does that mean, and how do I get on the game then?</strong></p>

<p>That error is happening for some people at the moment and doesn't seem to have a definite cause.  Let's try a few steps that have helped others with this issue.</p><p>Make sure you are not running any programs on your windows taskbar. If the problem persists, you should try running your system under a clean boot as this will prevent any hidden programs from loading.To disable background programs:1. Select the START button.2. Select RUN, then type in "msconfig" (for Vista, type msconfig in the search bar at the bottom of the Start Menu)3. Press OK4. Select the STARTUP tab.5. In the list, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, please note that SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY will not be listed - just uncheck the entire list.6. Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try the game again.</p><p>If the problem persists at that point then it's possible that one of the UI/settings files are corrupted.  You may want to delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.ini</p>
