SOE:

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EQ2 GOD AND YOUR CLIENTBASE, FIX YOUR BROKEN GAME!

And please, before any TSR tries in tell me to download a .NET patch, or rub my tummy and right click, and or power cycle my machine... STOP. Been there, done that. Between the countless PURE FUNCTION call errors... and the Countless Application Not Responding crashes.. this game has become unplayable. I play on a PVP server and crashing during a PVP fight is the suk. I've been a LONG time EQ2 player and since the TSO expansion this game has performed like crap. Something is broken.. I've read countless threads claiming the same issues, and countless times the TSR run through this laundry list of "its not our issue" "possiable" solutions...

OS: Vista Ultimate X64

/ Admin Policy / No UAC / Tried Compatibility Mode / Toggled ON/OFF Multicore / Turned off shaders ...

Errors Logs:

http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/...025/capture.jpghttp://img410.imageshack.us/img410/...64/capture2.jpghttp://img365.imageshack.us/img365/...07/capture3.jpghttp://img100.imageshack.us/img100/...42/capture4.jpghttp://img100.imageshack.us/img100/...7/capture5n.jpg

EVERY TIME I PLAY NOT BUT 10-15MIN AND THE GAME CRASHES..

2 of the four images you post indicate a fault in a nvidia dll. Try removing your video drivers completely, boot back to a VGA mode driver, runa driver cleaner and installing the latest drivers from the site. a dxdiag would help along with the running programs, services and startup programs from msinfo

Lemme give you a few tips.... from a guy who has built PC's specific for this game.....

1. the 8800 you have, has been known to cause crashes in EQ2. I know this from personal experience and from seeing all the heat and driver related issues. If you can't trash the card (which I don't expect anyone to do) then try this next method

2. Update your video drivers from Nvidia.... not EVGA. EVGA has (again from my experience) older less stable drivers. I know Vista is a pain, especially if your running 64 bit so make sure you run the drivers from Nvidia. Microsoft sometimes tries to get Vista to perform a driver update via it's own personal updated drivers..... You don't want those. Make microsofts vidoe drivers go far far away. They arent optimized for the issues your experiencing.

3. Flash your BIOS. Yeah this one can be tricky. If you have never done it, I seriously say take it to someone who knows how do to this. If you fry your BIOS, you basicly kill your machine. But, just like anything tech related, when you know what your doing this aint that hard. If it's a pre built machine (i.e. Dell, HP, Compaq) there sites usually have some sort of pre packaged easy to do .exe that you can run. If this is a custom built machine, you might need to viist the Manufactures site... like ASUS, Gigabyte, ABIT, INTEL, etc.

4. Update all other drivers(ie. monitor, sound, network). I know you just reinstalled your OS, but you really should make sure you have the latest drivers. Stupid as it may seem, when you have older drivers, something may conflict. So make sure everything clicks well.

5. Disable things that conflict. Look, I know a lot of people mess with having 2 sound cards in their machine. BUT, when your dealing with a game thats pretty much been written with poop and a stick (no offence EQ2 dev guys) you have to realize that something there might be the problem. Since I see you have an audigy and an onboard sound card.... well, either pull the Audigy, or disable the sound card. An intellegent game ( not that I have seen any of those yet) can utilize and split audio into diffrent sound cards without any issues. So choose, but choose wisely...... Hehe....

6. Check your Page File. Again, I know in vista, if you dont know where to find it, this can be tricky, but open up your page file and set it. Make it something standard like 4000 or 6000. Microsoft likes to give you this wierd floating memory usage number... which I have seen causes issues with EQ2. If you have it set to something like 4000. Which is about the amount of memory your using, this will make windows keep its page file only within the parimiters you put it in. (sorry spelling isn't quite my forte.)

7. Run with and without UI mods to see a diffrence. I personally run only one thing, because it doesnt really mess with my UI too much. But I know if you run something like Prophet, the coding from it may be jacking around with EQ2 (not saying that it does, but it has been known to happen). Try running EQ2 without really any mods. At all. Don't even run stuff in the background. Eliminate all possible problems which could be causing these issues.

8. Last but not least.... play. Yep, once you tried doing all this stuff, you should be able to actually do what you intended to do.... play the freakin game. So..... have fun and I hope this might have helped out.

Outside of the game, I'm a Network Engineer for a major higher ed institution and so when it comes to nailing down a certain issues with a computer I'm pretty savvy at dotting the I's and crossing the T's. Unfortuantly that did not come across in my original post as it was made after a day of crashing, frustration, and with a anger fogged mind-set.

I've broken down every component on my system, swapped between an ATI/AMD & Nvidia/Intel, I've tested on x86 & x64, WIN XP PRO/Vista, RAM, MOBO's all of which (tho not exact) had similiar issues. (Especially the PURE FUNCTION call error) And doing a simple search on the net and throughout this forum I can see that I'm not alone. I have a buddy whom I regularly game with nightly, of which is expeirencing the same issues I'm having and started approx the same time mine did.. Since the release of RoK.

We've both tried calling SOE Support of which is uterlly useless and reminds me of days that I had to use the Consumer path when contacting DELL support... "Hello from India, please start by restarting your machine..". I understand from a Developer (and Support) standpoint that its extremely hard to troubleshoot an issue on multiple different platforms, and in some case nearly impossiable.

But... at the end of the day, I'm paying $14.99 per month for a game that has gotten worse then better.

Hi Cajun -

I certainly appreciate the time you took to write the above, I've in fact done everything if not more then you've described above.

Whether that be because of the transitioning of OS's in the market and their conflict with older gaming code, or what.. but Its become EXTREMELY tiresome.
Do you really expect a fix after this long?

Or expect a tech to actually give you any worthwhile feedback?

The most that I have come to expect from here is the following.

1. Other people saying: Too bad, so sad - or - Be patient - or - I have the same issue

2. Techs saying: We're working on it, but it's so haaaaaaaard

I feel your pain, and wish you all the best. If something works, please post. I've tried everything, and the only thing that I can come up with is either buy a new comp or cancel.
