View Full Version : Client freeze only on one charactor

Whenever I log into my main, Satu, my client freezes completely, when attempting to build the zone. I am able to log into all of my other toons with no problem, it's just Satu.

It has been about two weeks since the last time I logged. I re-installed EQ2 to a completely different directory, did not load my custom interface, or eq2 maps, and she is still unable to get in. It's like she camped at a very bad spot, but, it's just my guild hall. I've run a full scan also, before attempting to log in. I know it shouldn't be my computer, since all of my other toons get in with no problem, and I did a full install on an entirely different drive. I also tried to log her in on my laptop to the same effect. Any suggestions?

You will probably want to lower your graphics settings to the absolute minimum and try to log in with that character as a first step. Assuming that doesn't work, I would suggest sending a petition to the GMs so that they can move the character to a different area. It certainly sounds possible that the character is due to a bad location in the guild hall.

I went back and forth with tech support a few times on the issue. They finally moved her, and stated my guild hall had too many items. I was finally able to log in after completely deleting the folder it was installed to, and redownloading the game, the only thing is, I get 3 frames per second ONLY on Satu. I can load my other toons with no problem. I gave up and deleted my subscription since I can't play my main toon, and no one is able to find a valid reason. I guess I'll find something else to play.

I wonder if there's some kind of particle effect on that character that is causing problems with your computer.

You might want to try taking off all your armor/gear and putting it in your bags. Cancel all of your buffs and other spell effects as well. Is it still going really slow with that character? If not, try putting the items/spells back on, one by one. Keep an eye on your performance to see whether or not it takes a sudden dip.
