I've always been interested in collecting POI discoveries and have been a fan of Quester's list for a long time. I have not been able to find a complete source dedicated to just discoveries, so I started making my own maps and lists and sharing them with my friends. I have found it very useful for leveling alts and collecting discoveries on my mains, Heilig and Sardonica. I've collected them on a little web site that I maintain. Maybe you can make use of them. Take a look here:

Heilig's Discoveries

I hope you find the information useful. I'd be interested in any feedback or supplemental information you might have. Send me an email or post on the forum.

Enjoy!

Heilig

Wow A+++ would read again lol.

I saw the list and while it was ok and was tempted to try and figure out where the locs were, this is just unreal. I hope you have a lot of bandwidth available on your server as I think this is going to be a very popular little site.

I was actually in the process of adding all the discovery points to EQ2MAP. If it's alright with you, I'm going to use this to help me add discovery POIs to EQ2MAP as a team member. I'll talk to the team and see if we can incorporate some kind of different discovery POI in EQ2MAP. I do remember Rothgar talking about an ROI (region of interest) system at the EQ2Interface forum. This would fit well with that if he didn't scrap the idea.

If you need to contact me you can use this forum, or the EQ2Interface.com forum, username: dragowulf.

That's extremely useful, good work

Now, if there was a way of tracking them in EQ2, or a quest... I seem to remember something like it in SWG

Wow, Thanks for taking the time to do this, I completely ignored all of barren sky and commonlands zones in favor of getting from 1-68 in all strictly in faydwer zones. So grats on this, so many people are going to use this, and with your permission, by linking it here, I am going to forward this to our personal guild website for aa leveling. Thank you

So far, it hasn't been pushing any limits.

Dragowulf2, it's fine with me if you use the information on my site. I've been using yours as a reference to help me find POIs, so I'd be honored if you could use mine.

I've heard from several people that they'd like a system to track their POIs better. I posted a way of getting a list out of your log files of your character's discoveries on my site, but it's a bit tedious. I have used /feedback to suggest to SOE that we get some way ingame to view our discoveries, at least a total count. It would be easy to add it to the Persona page. If anyone else has any good ideas, I suggest you use /feedback to let SOE know about them.

Actually, Dragowulf, there might be an issue with using some of the POI coordinate from my maps. Mine are intended to be used by someone who's trying to get all the discoveries in a zone. For that reason, the coordinates I give aren't necessarily the ones you'd associate with the POI itself. Sometimes I give coordinates that give the optimal path or that keep you away from nasty red mobs. Also, I've tried to put them in a logical order that minimizes running around, so you might get the discovery update and still be pretty far from what you would consider the actual POI. An example is Swamp of No Hope in Fens. That POI is huge and you can get the discovery from lots of different approaches. The one I give is easy to get to and doesn't involve getting close to a bunch of mobs (just head south and a little east from Sathir Span), but it's nowhere near what you would consider the middle of the Swamp. I just thought I'd warn you.

Like Archer's Wood while will give you discovery once you're about 10 feet into it from any direction. The best you can hope for is a ballpark number.

I am noticing this to, and finding it hard to get some poi's sometimes. SOE didn't seam to make them very precise or good imo.
