Now that I've chosen my class/race combo, I've started looking at what tradeskills I would like to do for my bruiser. I intend on specing him to be a DPS/OT, I don't know if that effects the choices I should make but I made it regardless. So is there a best profession for a bruiser in my state of mind, or at least some that would be more beneficial than others?

Tailor makes bruiser weapons and armor, so tht could help you some too, but again, lots of work to do just to make your own stuff...

Bruisers are kind of the Redheaded step child out there...you need to make your own nitch. So, the way I do my groups is I usually create one. I am in a guild too, so I do group wit them alot, but alot of times I log on aftre they have grouped, so I am off to the PUD races.

Point is, since I create groups all the time, many times I am the tank since there isn't always another one around. So, if you are not specced to tank, then you will not have that option. Believe me, you wait too long lf a plate tank, your group will dissapear and plus, the group memmbers know that Bruisers are a tank class, so why won't he/she tank?

Tank baby....tank.

According to Sony, after this new "tank revamp" with the upcoming GU, bruisers are supposed to be "AOE/Encounter tanks" so im curious as to what exactly will make us that... lol, cuz atm we are anything but that, so they are gonna have to do some major overhaul for that to happen

I've gotten the impression that with the amount of plate tanks available, there are plenty of them running around in this game. Is that not the case? But yea I understand the idea of making my own group, 90% of the time in WoW on my rogue I had to do the same thing because we'd been nerfed into a subpar DPS class, so I had to not only make my own group, but bust my butt if I wanted to be able to compete with the other DPS in the grp.

p.s. I ended up selecting alchemy for the potions/fighter spells

You should have a spec for tanking and a spec for DPS. Or if you are choosing only one then just choose tank. Bruisers are not particulalrly usefull as a DPS class.

I heard on another thread that SK and bruiser were the top DPS tank classes. I already have a brigand, I was looking for another non-scout melee DPS class. If the bruiser is not good, then are any of the tank classes? Sorry for the noob questions, just trying to learn and pick the class that best fits my offensive dps tank goal.
