The problem started yesterday after the patch, and nothing I do resolves it. The best I've been able to do is prolong the time between crashes.

It doesn't matter if I'm standing still, moving, zoning, using the broker - I've crashed under all of these circumstances.

I've reinstalled windows, updated video drivers and DirectX to the latest versions. Have also reinstalled EQ2.

Video card is Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX, running Windows XP SP3 with all updates. If necessary, I can paste the contents of the error report when it happens again.

Any help is appreciated!

The problem you're describing is almost surely related to the graphics card. Assuming it isn't a hardware issue, you can usually correct it by reinstalling the graphics card drivers and DirectX9.0c. Did you completely uninstall the previous drivers before installing the new ones? If not, you'll probably want to do so.

I would suggest posting the first section of your DXdiag so that we can see what your computer sees.

I checked through the information you posted and I don't see anything that stands out as a possible cause. Certainly the graphics card driver is very new and may have issues, so it might be worthwhile to try a couple older versions to see if they have the same issue. Also, did you install the chipset drivers after reinstalling Windows? The chipset drivers tend to interface between the graphics card and motherboard, so that could be part of the problem.

Do you have another graphics card you can try to trade in temporarily to see if that corrects the issue?

I had tried it with multiple driver versions. And I did install the chipset drivers after reinstalling windows, but none of it worked.

Dell sent a technician out today to replace the motherboard and the video card. It's been almost two hours and everything seems to be working fine now. Usually, it would have crashed by now, so I'm optimistic.
