I understand that the new Gu51 was postponed... so I have a request and I don't think its unreasonable.

Put the guard back where they were BEFORE the nerf!!

I've got all my taunts and some of my CA's mastered. I have Good gear as well and I still have issues holding agro against group members on even single targets encounters.

Please fix it at least until you get the new fighter changes done. we have suffered enough! this was pnly supposed to be temporary!

Greg

Duuuur. Know your group before you say your taunts don't hold aggro. You using your gaurd helm and other group buffs on the right people? you can't just spam your taunt's and expect to hold aggro. Ehh. You got to know whats coming up and not worrie about whats dropping. Just keep making the first moves and pull away.. =p Let the healers worrie about keeping you up, and the dps worrie about killing the stuff. Use your rescues (you should have at least 4 at 140 ap + your taunts) and you should have no trouble keeping aggro. And btw for those pesky super dps's that know it all and want to do 5 milion point's of dps the first 3 seconds of a fight... Let them 'tank' that mob for a fe.. After a couple near deaths or costly repair bills because it's easier to save your taunt's for after he goes down =p he'll learn to back down a little and give the tank time to build aggro before blowing the mobs heads off.

      Anyway's peace out,

           Kalladoth, Vox 2k9

Yea that's nice, but they nerfed warrior double attack by 35% which makes it harder to hold aggro than it was.

"Let them 'tank' that mob for a fe..
With the impact that GU51 is probably going to have on the tank population, you'll most likely find groups begging for any tank, good or bad (and the good ones will probably be tanking most of the time for their own guild).

That said, players will have to learn to adjust their playstyle with this update. There's simply no working around it; the changes in GU51 are designed to make everyone more responsible for their own threat generation. I predict there's going to be a lot of dead Wizards, Warlocks and Assassins out there after this goes live.

That's fine with me. I like how in Final Fantasy XI it is set up. Black mages (usually considered the pure DD job in that game) and rangers and other classes can rip hate from the tank at will by spamming too many nukes. But you are expected to know your threat boundaries. If you keep chain casting and ripping aggro, not only do you punish yourself with severe death penalties, your group also gets [Removed for Content] off because you are screwing their xp per hour by ripping hate like a noob. So there is a fine art to knowing how much damage you can do and when. Tanks are also judged by their survivability and how well they hold mobs, but noone expects them to hold mobs off a black mage chain casting nukes.

However, in this game it's all about max burn with the dps classes spamming as much possible dps as they can and the tanks are expected to hold the mobs. If the tank can't, well then he sucks. Ask someone to watch their aggro and they will look at you like you're stupid and either tank the mob themselves, die repeatedly, quit, or replace you. The last thing they will do is watch their aggro...

It'll range from the "all fighters suck now" flames to the "this game is boring if I have to exercise self-control" whinging.
