My wife's new Mystic will become her new main. I've got a low level bard that is about to betray to Qeynos to join her. When I do so, I'll have the opportunity to rethink my Troubador/Dirge choice. So, which bard class should I level with my wife's Mystic?

Some extra info: -- We will be using at-tier Master Crafted equipment most of the time. -- We'll be playing with the Mystic + Bard 100% of the time, and add in my son's Paladin about half of the time. -- Our playstyle will have us questing non-stop, with combat experience off. We're not racing to end-game; we are focusing on AAs as we level.

That one is easy. It's the Dirge.

Mystics are melee dps and dirges are melee buffers.

Case closed..

yup - no contest at all. All their buffs and abilities are complimentary from the outset:

- dirge buffs mystic str, +skills, melee procs and can self-buff some tanking ability (parry, hate, agi)

- mystic buffs dirge str, agi, hp + a little haste with dogdog

Dps won't be very high but you will clear most content at the correct level easily enough.

Duo works better at higher levels with Cacophany of Blades and epic weapon procs but that is a long way off.
