Agi line is good to start with. Then go with wisdom line and str line.

In the str line only go down to spell expertise.

The other 2 lines i said they are good to use the last rank of the tree's.

You want spellshifting for reuse speed and sagacity for less power cost.

You won't beable to use them all until lvl 70+.

Eq flames is best site to look up what to do.

the first few aa points i put in magi's shielding (wards for 60 points dmg with 10aa in) and the others in int for power pool and spell dmg! at 17 they will all be going into sta for manashield!

I never really used a manashield spec, even when I was leveling. The mobs are so trivial until the 70s, rooting and nuking will be just as effective.

For PvE, I'd go agility/magi shielding first. If going agility, go 4-6-4-8-1. Afterwards, I'd personally go strength for the crit, but wisdom would work as well, I suppose.

Now that I am in the low 70s and I am gearing my wizard more toward small guild groups, I just abandoned stamina in favor of the traditional damage specs in the Sorc Tree. I have Agility and Wisdom filled to the last skills, and I have Str filled down to max Crit chance with the little extra in the second level AoE damage cone spell.

I am hunting in Kylong Plains. if you are familiar with it there are common, non-heroic NPCs that hit MUCH harder than most non-heroics whites and blues. Their hit-points seem to be about the same, but they resist root and other spells a little more, and when they do get to me and hit me - when my adept 3 shackle only “snares” instead of “roots” - they hit HARD… more like blue heroic ^^ but with less resists and hit-points. Without the extra physical damage mitigation from Stamina, the extra focus, and without manaburn I am dying a little more often even when using Root & Nuke!

Stamina line gets a bad wrap from some wizards on here, but if you are hammering out repeatable solo status quest, stamina is a good to have when solo questing in zones like Loping Planes and Kylong Plains where back aggro, root resists (even with adept 3 versions) and when untimely NPC spawns in crowed zones are common, Stamina with manashield is a good line to have until you are ready to commit the majority of your adventuring to groups with a good tank and healer.

That said, the damage IS better with a true damage spec that focuses on Agility, Wisdom and Strength. Its a matter of group availability, how you play, and how often you can stand to repair your gear in those tougher solo zones.

Magi's Shielding.

With a group things might be different, I mostly soloed my Wiz. You can always respec it, though. Maybe dump some into AGI or the EoF spell lines for casting speed.
