Moderators: I posted this originally in the "Look and Feel" forum. Please forgive me for doing a cut and paste of it here, but figured this might be a somewhat better section. Please feel free to delete my post in the Look & feel area if you'd like, or lock it. My apolgies for posting twice.

Okay, the actual post:

Hello,

Forgive me if this has already been posted about a similar error. If a moderator feels like it's best to merge my post into an existing one about this issue, please feel free. I'll admit I'm being somewhat lazy in not searching to see if someone already posted about this.

Anyway, as of recently I've noticed that not every item in the attic of my Qeynos 5 room home renders properly. Some items literally appear or disappear depending on how I tilt my character when I view them. This seems to happen both first & third person view. One or two items that I know are there seem to fail to render at all. It's not a lag in rendering, I've seen guild halls that are almost full do that, some items not render immediatly but then show up a couple seconds later. These items never appear from some angles, then do appear at others. I am at custom settings for my graphics, but with most of settings set to "maximum". My house is literally full with a room extender (600 items) but this has never happened before, this has only been very recent. It's also only in the attic, the other rooms all the items render fine.

I have already done a /bug report, but I also wanted to post this here, both to see if others have similar issues, or if this is a known issue being worked on, or even if there is a fix. I am on Vista 64, and have 6 gig of memory (New Core i7 motherboard running 3 x 2gb DDR3 1600 in triple channel). So anyway, I assume this isn't a memory issue. Ping rate wasn't too horrid (I'm usually at about 150 ping give or take), frame rate wasn't low either.

Greetings,

I wonder if it is surpassing the max number of models. Try opening your display options and check under the model detail section. Are the low and high detail characters set to the max?

Since it's happening only on one floor I wonder if the items around that error are triggering it. Do you have a large stack of books or other objects in that area?

The attic is pretty crowded, we have some Erollisi Day roses planted in the floor to simulate a garden, so that is possible. Mind you, this has never happened before but I can still possibly see this. The other idea I'll try also. High detail characters is set for around 10, low for maybe 50. I'll max out low details and see if this solves or lessens the problem. I may also move a few items to a different floor, with hope that solves it.

I'll post results here when I do get a chance to do this.

Under norrathian homeshow is also a topic about this problem.

I'm having the same problem and tried the hints above but they didn't work for me.Ofcourse i have a lot of items in it cause it's the best place for your indoor garden.

I moved about 10 or so items down a floor, and did the other suggestions. This wasn't happening until fairly recently, so not sure what else to do. I can make it worse with some settings..but not better. I'm drawing a blank on what made it worse, but it was under the same one to change number of high and low res models. May have been rendering distance? I have rendering distance set to maximum, and always have.

Now the tier 3 guild halls do sometimes have a delay on rendering all of their items, but they do eventually render. This is a bit different. As stated above, I'm having items either not render at all, or only render from certain angles.

It's possible that a small hole in the geometry of the floor could shift which items are closer to the camera and cause items on the same floor not to render. I'm wondering if you have a concentration of items immediately below the place where you're experiencing the error. Granted this is just a guess, but it's based on the fact that others are reporting similar issues in that area.

I would definitely advise submitting a /bug report about the issue and posting any information you have in the other thread tracking the problem. This sounds like a bug and not a technical issues, though I'll be looking for a way to work around or minimize the problem.

Thanks for the replies. I will try moving a few more items to different floors, and see if their is a small mass of items directly under the attic. I have done a /bug report already. I'll be sure to find the other post tracking the issue, and may take the liberty of cutting and pasting my OP here in it, along with a link to this one also.

For what it's worth, I found the thread tracking this issue:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...442929?

Looks like a developer or at least a "red name" did post and indicate that it's being looked at, it is a known issue/bug and they hope to have it fixed by GU 51 (I assume they mean the Lavastorm one, sounds like Fighter revamp is now GU 52?) and maybe even sooner. The developer in question actually suggested not moving items. (Of course I did..OOPS. ) Anyway, sounds like this will be fixed.

Hopefully we'll get a hotfix to correct the issue soon.
